Enough of the sappy stuff, let's get to the celebration! Many, many months ago, I found out that Cirque du Soliel was coming to the OC Fairgrounds this Fall. Cirque du Soliel is kind of our thing and we've now celebrated two anniversaries seeing one of the shows. In fact, if memory serves me correctly, our first anniversary was spent seeing Cirque du Soliel IRIS at the Kodak Theater in Los Angeles. And now our fifth seeing KURIOS at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. (We've also seen TOTEM at the Del Mar Fairgrounds, KOOZA at the Santa Monica Pier, and various other ones in La Vegas - so in case you're wondering, YES I would recommend going to see one if you have the chance!). I bought our tickets way back in April and knew this was what we'd be doing to celebrate our anniversary and for our November date. At that point, I hadn't even thought about what we'd do for dinner, but we later figured that out and made plans at a nearby restaurant called Chart House. This was our first time eating dinner there and it was delicious. We even ended the meal with this heavenly molten lava chocolate cake. It was amazing.
From there we made our way over to the fairgrounds, walked around a little, headed to our seats (which were surprisingly close - go me! lol) and waited for the show to start. I love how to they have entertainers walking around and interacting with the audience while everyone is waiting for the show to start.
Dinner was AMAZING as was the show. And even though we didn't do anything crazy big like I had originally planned (I had hoped for a trip back to Hawaii where we had our honeymoon but since we went on a cruise only two weeks ago, we put a halt on the anniversary vacation this year), it was still a nice night, just the two of us, enjoying a nice dinner and a show and each other's company.
And just for fun, since I didn't blog when we got married... here are just a few of my favorite pictures from our wedding (I seriously LOVE them all so it was hard to choose just a few!).

ReplyDeleteWhat a fun way to spend your anniversary! Wouldn't it be funny if you had gone to Hawaii the same time Erin went with her family! You are making me want to look up cirq de soleil performances!
ReplyDeleteYour wedding photos are amazing!!! Happy 5-years! Glad you two got to celebrate!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your pink shoes with your wedding dress!!! I did have white shoes but they were very comfy sandals that I wore all that summer haha! Looks like you guys had an awesome anniversary and I love the tradition you're setting up! So much fun! Happy 5th anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHow fun! I love seeing your wedding photos, and I too love your pink shoes with the dress!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is amazing!! I've never been to one of those. I think they have one at Disney Springs. You've had such a great year of dates. Are you going to repeat next year? It's so nice to have a set plan with that. Chris and I had our last legit date back in 2014 haha. Oops. I don't count our movie dates but we do those pretty often. I want to see James Bond sometime soon.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary!!! I think it's amazing you had so many dates this year. My husband and I didn't do so well - having a new baby and all - but we're working on making it a priority. We just took a cruise...that counts, right?!
ReplyDeleteI hope y'all had the best anniversary! The food looks delicious and the show sounds like a blast. I am going to sound totally dumb for a moment...but I thought you could only see these types of shows in Vegas! :) And your wedding pictures are adorable. Love the converse!!!
