Butts.
Tushies.
Rear ends.

No matter how you phrase it, baby's have the cutest tushs. And nothing is cuter then a baby sleeping with their tush in the air.

I broke the cardinal rule of mothers tonight.... never wake a sleeping baby. Well... ordinarily, I follow this rule. But tonight when I got home from picking Mason up from daycare, he was kinda cranky so I put him down for what I thought would be a short nap. I figured he would sleep for an hour max, wake up, eat, we would give him his medicine and then go back to sleep. But he slept... and slept... and slept from 5:30pm-8pm when I woke him up. Like I said, normally I would let him sleep, but he needs his medicine two times a day and his eye drops four times a day so I had to wake him so he could get his second medicine and fourth eye drops. But before I woke him... I took a few pictures.

Such a sweet boy.
Leg tucked under and butt in the air.
I could watch him sleep all day....
Love him <3

HAPPY 7 MONTH BIRTHDAY MASON!

I CANNOT believe that my baby is s.e.v.e.n m.o.n.t.h.s old today. Boy has the time flown by. And for some reason, seven seems so much older than six. I actually thought today that I should start planning his birthday. His F.I.R.S.T. birthday. So scary! I feel like once he turns one then he's officially not a baby anymore :( Oh well, that's still five months away so let's focus on the current!

This photo shoot was a little harder than the rest because Mason is sick. Again. Poor kid can't catch a break. I feel like they just keep passing a cold around daycare so he is constantly sick. This is probably his sixth cold since he started daycare in October. Hopefully it will get better when the weather gets warmer and they can go outside more...

Seven months :

- i weigh 18 lbs. 8 oz.
- i am 27 inches long
- i still wear 3-6 month pants
- i can still wear some 3-6 month onesies/shirts but actually fit into some 9 month and even some 6-12 month clothes (with the sleeves rolled up if long sleeves)
- i giggle a lot when mommy and daddy play with me
- i went on my first walk in my stroller at home (finally!) and in a stroller at daycare
- i've mastered rolling from my back to my belly... but have forgotten how to roll back!
- i roll over in my crib (after mommy and daddy put me to sleep on my back) onto my stomach sometimes... and have even slept like that (and freaked mommy out... she's better about it now)
- i celebrated my first valentine's day
- i have TWO teeth!
- i got my first ear infection - on my 7 month birthday :(
- i have even more hair then last month (mommy noticed when she was looking at my 6 month pics)
- i'm starting to look more like mommy everyday
- i started solids (which make it fun for people when they change my diapers)
- i really like sweet potatoes, peaches, and butternut squash
- i think i like pears but am not sure about the consistency yet
- i don't like mangoes at all and spit them out at mommy and daddy
- i have a new found love of sticking my tongue out...all the time
- mommy thinks i miiiiiiiight learn how to crawl soon since i just started planking / push ups yesterday
- i love to put my foot in my mouth... mommy is amazed at how flexible i am!
- i took my first ride in my bog boy car seat!

Mommy is obsessed with my legs :)

I'm so big!
I love going on walks with my friends at daycare!

First ride in my big boy car seat... too bad it was to the
doctor to find out I have my first ear infection and an
eye infection :(

Happy 7 month birthday to my sweet sweet baby boy. Mommy and Daddy love you so much!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Sunday, February 17, 2013

A few days late... I know. But as I keep saying, I FINALLY have some time to blog tonight! Mason has been sleeping for a little while, dinner is cleaned up and Seth is... watch Star Trek on tv? Or something futuristic that I don't like lol.

Anyways, it's been SO long! And the main reason this time is again what it was last time... work. Ugh. That evil word. Thankfully though, it's gotten WAY better and I actually had the WHOLE weekend with my boys! I could not be a happier momma :) That and I got a looooooooooooong overdue mani/pedi on Friday after work too.

It's been so long, I don't even remember where I left off... so I will start with this picture of his TWO teeth!

T.W.O. two. I CANNOT believe it! My little baby is growing up so fast! When did this happen? I am so happy but I am sad too. I LOVE this age so much more than when he was littler (which feels weird to say cuz he's still not that big!). I mean, don't get me wrong, I loved my sweet little baby, but now that he is so much more interactive, it is so much fun! All of his accomplishments will be updated on the blog tomorrow when my sweet baby turns 7 MONTHS OLD! Wow.

Back to the topic at hand... Valentine's Day! I've been SO excited about all holidays ever since Mason was born. And I was so excited about Valentine's Day after Christmas ended. What would be the treats for daycare? What would I get him? I pinned pins like a crazy woman on Pinterest of what I could do and make and then... I worked so much, I couldn't really do any! Ugh. So annoyed. However, I did actually have time to make these cute treats for daycare.

Will you o"fish"ally be my Valentine?
Love, Mason

It's not exactly what I had planned in my head, but I think they turned out pretty cute :) And of course my sweet boy had to dress up for the occasion as well.

Eligible Bachelor

All in all, it was a good day! I got kisses from both my Valentine's and overall had a good day. I made Valentine's cupcakes for my work and everyone was super happy. We had dinner at Seth's mom's house and hung out with my sister-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, and Seth's mom and dad. We also exchanged gifts when we got home.

My Valentine's :)

We got to go out to celebrate by ourselves last night and went to Maggiano's for dinner and then to see Silver Linings Playbook. GREAT dinner and GREAT movie. I like to say that I don't care about Valentine's Day... but that's a lie. I mean I don't like that Valentine's Day is a day when you "have" to show the person you love that you love them, I would rather you tell me that on some random day. However, saying I don't care is probably wrong too (even if that sounds conceited lol), I just don't care about celebrating on the day.

To end a good Valentine's Day weekend... I think we might have a crawler soon!!! Well a scooter maybe? He moves a tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiny bit when he pushes up but just in the past two days he has started doing this which leads me to believe crawling miiiiiiiight be soon :

A FULL push up. Not just pushing his head up while still laying on his tummy.
Now only if we could master sitting...

Working Moms

Tuesday, February 5, 2013

Disclaimer : I've struggled with writing this post for some time now. All last week I wanted to write about this, but 1. didn't have the time to and 2. didn't know how it would be perceived. So let me first say, these are my opinions. I am not trying to offend either party, these are just my thoughts on paper (well, I guess more online, but you get the picture lol). And second, I fully support both sides. My mom was a stay at home mom and I loved it and loved having her pick me up from school everyday and being there to help me with my homework and volunteer in my classrooms. BUT, I also loved going to daycare. Now my mom being a stay at home mom, I didn't have to, but I WANTED to. All of my friends were there so I wanted to be too. So I have no problem with daycare and have no problem with working moms either, especially being one myself.

Now on to the post...

Last week by the numbers :

- 7 : the numbers of days in the week and coincidentally, the number of days I worked last week
- 168 : the number of hours in the week
- 68 : the number of hours I worked
- 40 : the number of hours I got paid for
- 42 : the number of hours I slept all week
- 10 : give or take..... the number of hours I saw Mason all last week
- 20 : give or take..... the number of hours I saw Seth all last week
- 9 : the number of hours I worked on Saturday and 10 : as in 10pm : the time I left work on Saturday

There's definitely something wrong with this picture.

Now this week was abnormal. I'll give you that. But when you have a little baby who is doing something new everyday and you don't want to miss anything, working even 1 hour over 40 hours is horrible. Now don't get me wrong, I'm all for helping when the help is needed and obviously I am willing to (and did) do it, but that doesn't mean that I have to like it.

I actually do like my job. I do like my co-workers. I like contributing to our family.
But when this is the only way you get to see your baby everyday, it's sad.

His new trick : flipping over in his crib!

I mean, he is a pretty dang cute sleeper but still, this week I had to wonder, is it worth it to be a working mom? Unfortunately I don't really have a choice because daycare is less than what I make a month so I have to work, but I just feel like I am missing so much. First, let me say, I love LOVE LOVE Mason. I cannot imagine my life without him. But right after he was born and I was home all day everyday with him, I craved some adult time. Some time where people could talk back to me and communicate and not just eat, sleep, cry, and poop. I think I was just overwhelmed with everything in the beginning and spending everyday at home because immediately I wished I was back at home. And now that he is doing so much, I wish I am back at home. And maybe once I finally have weekends off or I get to see Mason in person when I get home from work and not just on the monitor, I will go back to feeling better about working. But right now, I feel like I'm missing so much. Luckily, I have my amazing husband, who has really been amazing the past few weeks. I've had to work weekends for the past month (at least one weekend day) and have been working late nights for the past couple weeks which puts a lot more responsibility on him. I am so thankful for him because he is SO IN LOVE with Mason and SUCH a good Dad that while I'm sure he wishes I were home too, he never complains and instead just enjoys his one on one time with his boy :) SO LUCKY.

I just have to realize that there's always something that you are going to miss out on. No matter if you stay home or if you work. You could be at home all day with your baby and step away for a second to go to the bathroom and miss them roll over for the first time. So you might as well make the most of every second you have with your family and cherish every moment!

On to some happier news! The time I did get to see Mason and Seth this weekend was definitely cherished. Here are some of my favorite moments :)
