Five on Friday!

Friday, January 8, 2016

Happy Friday! Hope your first official full week of 2016 has gone well! It's been a while since I've done a five on Friday since the holidays fell on Fridays this year, so I thought I'd do a little recap on things that didn't need a post of their own, but I wanted to share anyway! So, without further ado...

ONE.
New Cross Body Bag!

I am SO excited about my new purse! SO SO excited. I've been looking for a cross body bag for FOREVER now and when my sister in law re-mentioned checking Fossil couple weeks or so ago, I knew I had to go. She had sent me a picture of a super cute bag a while ago (a WHILE ago) and I never ended up going, but luckily the store still carried it. I went in looking for one thing and came out with something else, but I'm so happy with my decision. I had originally wanted this bag, but upon actually trying all my stuff inside of it at the store, I quickly realized that that would not work. I found this one, quickly fell in love, and it is definitely big enough for all of my stuff AND Mason's stuff. And I've been using it ever since.

TWO.
Hanna Jams for Valentine's Day.

The day after Christmas, my sister in law and I went to the Hanna Andersson store to return some stuff. I had some pajamas that were too big for Mason that I wanted to exchange for a smaller size and when I saw these, I knew he had to have them. The store was actually out of Mason's size in the Star Wars ones, so I ended up getting one size up. The only difference is that I need to roll the sleeves and the pants in order for them to fit now. But at the rate that he's growing, he might be able to fit into them in a few months anyways. If not, we'll save them for next winter!

I'm not one to really shop for Valentine's Day pajamas, but I mean, you can wear a truck with hearts on them anytime, right? And Star Wars?? Never goes out of style. They had a girl version of the Star Wars ones that my sister in law got for my niece and I can't wait to get a picture of the two of them together!

Rumor has it that the Valentine's pajamas will be online soon, so keep checking the website or if you have a local store, they should be there now!

THREE.
Teacher Christmas Gifts.

A couple weeks before Christmas, I had NO idea what I was going to get for Mason's teachers. There are 6 of them and he has an ABA therapist AND 2 speech teachers and I knew I wanted to get them all a little something but without breaking the bank at the same time. Back for Teacher Appreciation, I got his teachers a $10 gift card to Starbucks. Back then there were only 5 teachers and it cost me $50. And while we LOVE LOVE LOVE all of his teachers, I didn't want to spend $90 on gifts this holiday. So when I came across this post on Vanessa's blog about neighbor gifts, I knew I could transform it into something for his teachers. I picked up 2 boxes of candy for each person (you can't go wrong with plain M&Ms and Swedish Fish), 1 bag of popcorn, and I used her printable for a RedBox promo code good for one free rental at any RedBox location. I love how it turned out and everyone was super excited about their gift of a movie night at home!

FOUR.
New Sheets for Mason's Big Boy Bed.

I'm SUPER excited that Mason is getting a new big boy bed! Though he got promoted from his crib to the toddler bed a while ago, he's now officially getting a real big boy twin bed. Seth's mom bought him the bed frame and the mattress for Christmas and then I picked up the sheets and the bedding. She also got him a couple of CUTE throw pillows to go along with it. I've been eyeing the sheets at Pottery Barn Kids for a while now and when I came across these ADORABLE dinosaur sheets on sale the weekend after Christmas, I knew these were it. Mason's been really excited about wearing his shirt with the dinosaurs on it so I knew he would be over the moon for his new bed. I also picked up this quilt and this pillow sham. The mattress arrived mid week this week and we're going to go pick it up this weekend so hopefully I'll have more pictures of his updated room soon!

FIVE.
Alex and Ani Bracelets.

I got these Alex and Ani bracelets for my birthday back in September, but don't think I ever shared. I loved them the minute that I got them, but hadn't been wearing them that much. Recently, with all the holidays that just passed, I wore them a TON, and it renewed my love for them. In fact, I have a couple more in my Nordstrom shopping cart right now that I'm trying to convince Seth that I need. Maybe for Valentine's Day???  :)

Happy weekend!!!

  1. I'm so glad you went with the purse you did. I like it a lot. Not super different from the other, but something about it just pops more than the other. Love the Hanna jams. And those dinosaur sheets are awesome!! Cam just started using his new full size bed in the new house with superhero sheets and going to bed has never been so fun. My sister is really into the Ani and Alex bracelets. I like them too, but have never been much of a bracelet girl. Love yours. I may have to reconsider getting some.

The redbox/treats gift is so perfect, and Vanessa's printable is A+..!! Our kids' daycare provider is an older woman (and very 'old school', which I LOVE), but I always struggle with finding something for her.. I need to get more creative. Enjoy the weekend!!

  10. Remember the days of small purses? AH! Motherhood! But you scored a great purse. I have something similar and love it.
Totally random but how do you purchase RedBox codes? I've looked before and either I'm overlooking something but it wasn't easy and I ended up giving up.
