A couple weeks ago, I shared my Easter gift guide. And for Easter I pretty much got Mason everything off that gift guide... and then some.
As I mentioned previously, I like to give Mason gifts based on the gift guide that I found a long time ago on Pinterest (of course! ha) of : want, read, wear, need. For Easter, I feel like want and need are pretty similar though so I grouped them together.
WANT/NEED
For want/need, I'll start out with the food items. Mason doesn't really like candy (I know! Who's kid is he anyway??) so I opted for some more savory snacks. He LOVES goldfish and loves popcorn, and when I found these in the Easter dollar section, I scooped them up.Mason has been really into cars and things with wheels lately. He's been loving the hot wheels cars that we got him in the past as well as the Blaze and the Monster Machines monster trucks. I got him four new hot wheels and... a lot of new monster trucks. Our collection started off with just Blaze and then was going to grow into Crusher for Easter. But then I started finding more and more and I just couldn't say no! #sucker. Shortly after we got Blaze and Crusher, I found Stripes and ended up giving it to him for doing so well potty training. Then I found the big horn truck, Gus, and Joe and of course I had to (had to!) get them as well. And Seth found Pickle, Zeg, and camo Blaze at Walmart yesterday (more on these good deals on Friday!) so... needless to say, we will have a small army of monster trucks once we give all of them to Mason. I only pulled out camo Blaze, Crusher, Pickle, and Zeg for Easter and plan to use the others as prizes for more good potty training days in the future.
I also got a couple of hot wheels tracks so we could try to set up some sort of track for him to drive his hot wheels cars on.
READ
For the read category, I thought I'd get some new Pete the Cat books. Mason calls them "Pete Cat" and asks for them daily so I thought I'd add a couple to the rotation. I had planned to give him both books on Easter but caved (see, #sucker!) and gave him the Easter one - Pete the Cat : Big Easter Adventure - already. I gave it to him a couple weeks ago and he literally asks to read it every night. For actual Easter, he's getting one of the classics, Pete the Cat : Rocking in My School Shoes. Believe it or not, as a big Pete lover, we don't have Rocking in my School Shoes yet!
WEAR
For the wear category, I got Mason some new Natives. I know it's kind of a funny Easter present to get shoes, but Mason seriously LOVES these shoes. No matter the weather, anytime I ask him to grab some shoes, he grabs the Natives. He's going to be so excited to see these new ones!
Did you share your Easter baskets today? If so, link up with us below and show us! I'm so excited to see what everyone else puts in their Easter baskets! The link up is open from today until March 30th, so no worries if you didn't share today -- there's still time!
Mason is going to love his goodies!! Pete the Caf is our favorite. I think we have all the books so far. I looked into natives, but could get myself to do it but I did find some at Old Navy that are very similar. cam loves them. I think I'll get him another pair. Blaze is a fav in our house too.
ReplyDeleteLook at all those goodies! Mason will be so excited! I have to look into those shoes. I think Old Navy comes out with their own style of Natives, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure he's going to absolutely love his Easter basket! When do you traditionally give it to him? And Boom Chicka Pop is sooo good!

What a perfect basket! What little boy wouldn't love a basket filled with cars and trucks!?! And I love that he asks to read Pete the cat books everyday. Get that kid every book in the series ;)
ReplyDeleteSuch a great basket, and I love your guidelines! I really need to get it together...I haven't bought a thing.
ReplyDeleteI was falling asleep last night and realized Sunday is Easter and I don't have enough to stuff the kids' baskets yet!! I love how you broke it all down into categories here... great idea! Now I can think of what else I need; thanks girl!
ReplyDeleteThis is the cutest - I love how much you packed in there and your categories!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a great basket! So cute that he loves those shoes :) Do you typically just give it to him on Easter, or do you hide it?
ReplyDeleteSuch a great basket!! ( I let Grammy be in charge of the girls this year ;))
ReplyDeleteConsidering I (errr, the Easter Bunny) just went to Walmart last night to stock up, it'll be a few days before I post, but I hope to link up at some point! And maybe I can get some ideas from all the other baskets that are shared! We love those shoes, too, but I usually opt for the cheaper Old Navy or iPlay brands.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute basket! He is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteEz is getting that Zeg truck too! (I think that's the dino monster truck's name). He would LOVE Mason's basket. Monster Trucks are the current obsession over here. Mason's going to be so excited Easter morning :)
ReplyDeleteAria is getting shoes too and I think she got some last year as well..or the year before. So shoes for Easter sounds good to me!! I kind of want to go get all the monster trucks now too, Aria loves blaze.
ReplyDeleteSuper cute! I was totally going to hold their natives until Easter, but I just couldn't with the nice weather we had last week! Great basket!

Great basket! I love that you had a plan when you got him stuff based on what he wants, needs, etc. I need to check out the Natives for Mila. I hear nothing but good things about them.
ReplyDeleteLucky boy, that's an awesome basket!! I predict he'll go straight for the trucks and rip open the goldfish, ASAP, ha!! :) Also, I'm thinking Tyson needs some of those shoes for quick on/off for summer. Let me know how sizing is.. Happy Easter to you guys!!
ReplyDeleteGreat basket items! I know how hard it can be when your kid doesn't like candy. Elin just started liking it but in previous years it was all savory snacks and toys for her as well.
ReplyDeleteLove these!! I always get Cam shoes and socks because it starts our "spring" so he needs some shoes other than sneakers and boots that he's been wearing all winter. :) We love Pete the Cat, too, but don't have School Shoes either! Good find, momma!
ReplyDeleteok. his basket is so good! lex is getting SHEETS. soooo masons' easter bunny is way nicer ;)
ReplyDeleteI saw the trucks on SnapChat yesterday and was cracking up! Total boy mom! However, I think Hattie would totally dig trucks too! :)
ReplyDeleteSo many cute things!
ReplyDeleteI really want to get Liam a pair of those shoes this summer. SO cute!
Okay... can you tell me about these shoes? I get something for Connor from Old Navy for half the price but they look very similar.
ReplyDeleteThose Natives such great shoes! Let me pout real quick about the lost shoe... ;) Mason will be such a happy boy come Sunday!!!
ReplyDeleteMason is going to LOVE seeing all the goodies in his basket!!
ReplyDeleteHow's the Pete the Cat Easter edition? It's one of the few we don't have, and I was thisclose to adding it to our baskets this year.
We had Natives when Marcus was younger, and I loved, loved, loved them. They were PERFECT for the SoCal weather (always hot), and I loved that they were still closed toed so we could go places without worrying about stubbed toes (the rocky beaches)! I'd forgotten about them until now. And now I'm on the hunt to see if I can't snag a pair for Marcus without anyone noticing a dip in the budget. ;)
Ooh Mason is going to love all the goodies! And I think I am going to get Liam a pair of natives. Everyone raves about them!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great basket! He's going to love everything. I am going to check to see if the Natives come in Mason's size! Those are the perfect Spring & Summer shoe!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute basket!! I'm a sucker for the Blaze trucks too. Jackson has a whole collection of them and he's getting 2 new ones in his Easter basket as well! Happy Easter!
ReplyDeleteSuch a great basket Liz. You did such a good job with putting in fun and practical things too.
ReplyDeleteLove the inclusion of the shoes!
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter!
