Well, it looks like more months that I originally planned have come and gone. I was planning on doing one of these posts each month but February slipped right on by and then March did too.... and then April did also! And here we are in May! Maybe I should start planning on doing these quarterly ;)
C U R R E N T L Y ::
Celebrating // Mother's Day! Well I guess celebratED. Past tense. Yesterday.
Mother's Day was wonderful this year! We didn't do anything crazy or elaborate, but that's how I like it. The day started off with Seth letting me sleep in until 8am (all the praise hand emojis!) and then he and Mason bringing me breakfast in bed! I never get that so that was quite the treat. Then I hung out with them for a bit, opened my cards, ate some newly acquired See's Candy and then got ready to go meet my mother in law and sister in law for a massage. Let me tell you. THAT was wonderful. I think the last time I had a massage was LAST year Mother's Day so this was also quite the treat. We then stopped by See's Candy to pick up some last minute things and then I came home to take a shower and have lunch. Mason napped, Seth went grocery shopping, I blogged a little, and then we all went over to my mother in law's house for a bit before we met the rest of the family for dinner at Lazy Dog Cafe. It was the perfect ending to the weekend and a wonderful day spent celebrating all the moms!
Drinking // Green Smoothies. Specifically this peach pineapple green smoothie.
Eating // Salted Caramel Frozen Yogurt with Salted Caramel Sauce. From Yogurtland. OBSESSED.
Featured On // Stitch Fix's blog! Stitch Fix has a blog where they post Stitch Fixer's reviews of certain items. I got an email a couple weeks ago from Stitch Fix letting me know that I would be featured on April 25th, which I thought was really exciting! I definitely don't think of myself as a fashion blogger by any means so it was really an honor that they wanted to feature on of my pictures as well as what I had to say about a certain clothing item. If you want to check out my feature and see which item I'm highlighting, you can find it here.
Freaking Out // Because I thought I deleted all my photos from my computer. But it turns out, they were just "inaccessible for a while", or so the Apple guy said. So per his recommendation, I backed my whole computer up to an external hard drive (yep... had never done that before in all the years I've had it - oops!) and then updated my operating system and THEN synced my pictures back to Photos from the iCloud and bam! We're back in business. It only took about EIGHT hours to get all my pictures synced, so you know how freaked out I was when I thought I lost about 8 years worth of pictures, including all of Mason's life and our wedding. Thank you helpful Apple man!
Listening To // Noise by Kenny Chesney.
Obsessed With // Tulips and Salted Caramel Frozen Yogurt (as mentioned above). Not necessarily together, but I wouldn't be mad if I was enjoying both at the same time.
Reading // One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. Goodnight Moon. Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night? Pete the Cat : I Love My White Shoes. Pete the Cat Rockin' in my School Shoes. All per Mason's request, of course.
Thinking About // Mason's birthday. It's not until July but I am terribly bad at procrastinating (or terribly good I guess I should say?) and I know it will sneak up on me before I know it. I found this INSANELY cute shirt the other day while searching for something else that I want to get him and I know that will take time to order. I also think I want to forgo a party again (we did this for him last year), which I know is like a blogger sin, and take him to Disneyland or Legoland instead and incorporate an overnight stay at either the Disneyland Hotel (or one of the hotels there) or the Legoland Hotel (respectively). At this age, I'm all about experiences over parties. Plus, is the party really for him or for me? I don't think he'd even notice if he didn't have a party!
Watching // Angels Baseball. Now that baseball is back, it's pretty much all we watch at night!
And there you have it. That's what I've been up to! What have you been up to lately?
I love these posts! What a wonderful Mother's Day girl!! Sounds heavenly. Yay for Mason potty training. That's great. Cam did such a great job (the second time arond, ugh). Gotta love daycare jumping on it. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the contributor position! That is such exciting news, Elizabeth!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad that you had a wonderful Mother's Day. A massage sounds like Heaven!

So many exciting things in this post! Congratulations on the moms blog gig. That's awesome! I'm anxious to get Kase started on potty training, but his therapists have asked that we wait a couple months until he really gets comfortable with all of them. Maybe I'm just anxious to only have one in diapers :)
ReplyDeleteYay for being a contributor! I didn't know there was a local mom's blog around here :) Good luck with Potty training, helpful that his daycare is helping out too! And LEGOLAND! The hotel is insanely awesome! I did two posts on what to do and what not to do, if you want help making your decision. We're headed there at the end of July to stay and go to the park for my cousin's kids birthday. The kids tell me they like Legoland better than Disney...
ReplyDeleteYou guys are always so busy and having so much fun! I'm loving your featured posts on the other websites! Congrats. How cool! And salted caramel yogurt with salted caramel sauce?? Kill me now!!
ReplyDeleteYay for the blogging updates! So cool that SF featured you and you're a part of the Anaheim mom blog. I have a friend that writes for a city moms blog in Texas, so I think that's awesome. Good luck with potty training, although it sounds like Mason is doing great! Also, if I lived close to Disney, I TOTALLY would skip parties and just spend the day there with Reese (and Charlotte when she's older :). Parties are more for family when they're this young anyway.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad potty training has been going well. I swear to you it was the worst transition for us (mostly me!). And congrats on all the features. I think you are pretty rad so it excites me to see others think the same!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, so glad you didn't lose your photos! That would NOT be fun!
ReplyDeleteI love that baseball tee. That is what I call pattern mixing made simple and that is EXACTLY what I need. Congrats on all the excitement going on, hard work is paying off. P.S. you had me at salted caramel.

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a wonderful Mother's Day! That salted caramel frozen yogurt sounds amazing. SO cool that you were featured on Stitch Fix!! And I adore my Pearl & Monroe floral baseball tee. It's the softest, comfiest shirt I own. Love the one you got!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting for your featured posts... Congrats!!! And salted caramel frozen yogurt... Delicious! And isn't potty training fun!? Noah's good as long as he's with me or Chris. At school he seems to have a problem telling them when he needs to go ;).
ReplyDeleteThat baseball tee that you're wearing is ADORABLE! and you're speaking my love language with all of this salted caramel talk! Lol! Also super excited for you re: the contributor gig! Going to read the post now (I meant to the other day but you know, life!) XO
ReplyDeleteYour Mother's Day is what dreams are made of!! I can't remember the last time I slept in past 6:30. Or had a massage, all in the same day.
ReplyDeleteWhoooop for all the awesome blogging opportunities heading your way. SO awesome!!
Last time I checked (two weeks ago) our Yogurtland STILL didn't have the salted caramel! I LOVED it when they did have it. I wish they'd bring it back.
