[Words on Wednesday] Confessions.

I must confess...

... that every time I give Mason a banana I get worried. I'll hand it to him, turn away to do something else, and then IT'S GONE. Did he eat it? He ate it right? WHERE IS IT??? Let's just say we had a certain incident once in the car and I found a banana in my purse a day or so later, so I have good reason to wonder if that banana was really eaten or is hiding somewhere in my house.

... that it annoys me to no end that I can't keep my windows open at night because one of my neighbors smokes pot around 8pm. I was unaware of this fact since it was so hot and we were using our air conditioner so much but the other night, it was actually cool, so I opened the windows only to walk downstairs to find that my whole downstairs smelled like weed. I then proceeded to yell to Seth (who was upstairs) to close Mason's window (which was also open and his room also now smelled like weed) because someone was smoking outside. And then I slammed the windows shut. Yep, no shame.

... that it also annoys me to no end that my other neighbor was ridiculously loud talking and drinking and laughing out on his back patio (which backs up to my living room window as well as Mason's bedroom window upstairs) until well past 11pm one Friday night a couple weeks ago. ELEVEN PM. Yes, I know that makes me sound old, but when I have a four year old that goes to bed at 8pm, that is NOT ok. Not only is it not ok, but it's also ridiculously rude. And I have zero patience for that. Do people not have any common courtesy anymore?

... that I'm super happy that I got married when I did. I used to wish that Pinterest was around when Seth and I got married, but now I'm glad I didn't have access to 178236752 different wedding types, inspiration photos, cakes, dresses, you name it, you can find it on Pinterest.

... that it annoys me when I click on a post to read it and all I can see are sponsored things - ads on the side bar, ads that pop up and block my view of the post, ads that pop up on pictures and block me from seeing the whole thing. It's the BIGGEST turn off. I'd say it mostly happens on things I find on Pinterest, but I've literally clicked away before because I just can't handle the spam.

... that I went to Chick-fil-a the other day for lunch with Mason and we were going to go through the drive thru and the person in front of me literally almost hit the person in front of them because they were both trying to get in front of one another and neither one wanted to stop. I mean, I know CFA is good, but it's definitely not worth getting in an accident over.

... that I had a cut on the tip of my right hand thumb the other day so I put a bandaid on it. Let me tell you... it made it INSANELY hard to text! I know that sounds really dumb, but I was getting so mad that it kept pushing the wrong buttons and leaving out letters. I contemplated taking it off JUST for texting. #sadbuttrue

... that I was slightly more annoyed that I think I should have been when I purposely went to Starbucks on the release day of the Red Cups and they gave me a... GREEN CUP. #firstworldproblems . I mean, I get it, they were probably trying to use up the rest of their green cup stock, but when you announce that it's red cup day, I want a red cup! Needless to say I've more than made up for it in the past few days... oops.

... that I had actually planned to do a "Readers Choice" Stitch Fix post on Monday where you all could help me decide what to keep from my latest Stitch Fix box, but I just didn't love enough to really make it worth it. I ended up keeping one thing, but I think I may change it up and ask for a new stylist next time and then ask for your feedback! Stay tuned :)

And that's all my confessions for today!
Can you relate to anything I confessed?

  1. I agree about Pinterest when planning a wedding. So glad it wasn't around when I was planning too. Man, Chick-fil-A gets crazy where you live too? Goodness people.

  2. I used to wish I had pinterest for wedding planning too. There's so much I missed by being born too early, lol! I wonder if you could call the police about your neighbor. :|

  3. Oh my goodness your neighbors sound awful. I feel the same way about ads! Or when it a list of things and each item is on it's own page. Just put it on one people, I'm lazy and ain't got time for that.

  4. I'm also glad Pinterest wasn't around at our wedding. I had fun using magazines for simple inspiration. I also had a bandaid on my thumb the other day and it was awful!

  5. I would have said something to your neighbor. I'm THAT neighbor. We don't have dogs yet somehow dog !@#$ ends up in our yard. I finally caught our neighbor's dog doing it's business so once he/she was done, I picked up (with gloves, paper towels and a bag) and placed in on their doorstep. I'm either your best friend or worst nightmare when it comes to neighborhoods :)

    2. It was happening so much & he would take care of it over & over. Finally, he had enough. Lol!

  6. And that is why I refuse to live in an apartment/condo/townhouse EVER again. I hate rude neighbors especially when living in close quarters with shared walls. No thank you. I LOLd about you yelling and slamming windows haha.

  7. So, I've never had Chick-Fil-A. The closest one to us is about 40 minutes away & is fairly new. Am I really missing out?

I totally agree with you on Pinterest. There was a time when I wish it would have been around, but at the end of the day, I'm glad it wasn't. Haha! Luke is too, I'm sure. 😉

    1. Amy!! Yes, you are missing out. Chick Fil A is well worth that 40 minute drive!

  8. Bahaha! Love the comment about weddings and Pinterest--so true! I would never be able to decide on a theme...or a budget!;)

  9. So I kinda love the smell of pot... Although I suppose I don't want my whole house smelling like it, ha! And the banana dilemma is a real one! Liam I don't have to worry about anymore, but finn just wants to hold it. And they get gross and mushy so fast, ugh!

  10. Are your neighbors related to my neighbors? The guy to the south of us is ALWAYS smoking (pot, cigarettes - blech). I also think this neighbor is certifiably crazy, as I hear him ranting and yelling and screaming all hours of the day and night. And the neighbors to the north of us have a 17 year old kid who is home alone - a lot - and he is always blasting THE worst music, and almost always when I'm trying to get my kids to sleep.
Your green cup was my Disney cup. I wanted a Red Cup at Disney SO bad. But, NOPE! When I asked for a red cup the lady at the register literally said, "I don't know what you're talking about." TIME OUT. I know you know what the hell a red cup is.
Confession (in the comment section): sponsored posts are my least favorite. Throw in a pop up and I'm totally clicking out of that.

  11. Totally with you on the pop-ups... I really get why people want them, but its friggin annoying so I have just said no and not put one on my site. Your neighbor sounds terrible. I hope they move soon friend.

  12. The banana story made me laugh! But only because I can relate. I am always finding random things in my purse…including food! Your neighbors need to learn some respect, seriously! RUDE!

  13. Aw dang about your SF box! Are you still going to share what you got here though? Because I want to see!

I'm loling about the banana. I'd be terrified too!

If I open a blog and it has scrolling ads(the ones that don't go away when you scroll past) or pop ups, I'm instantly out.

  14. Pinterest was awesome for ideas for my recent wedding, but I totally get it! In the same breath I would say it was such a pain in my rear end! My brain was FRIED with too many ideas!

  15. I live in an apartment complex and the noise at night is the worst. Adjacent to our apartment is a family that has their extended family over almost every weekend and they are always cooking outside (cuz it's Texas and it's hot) and the kids are running around...and my 2.5 year old goes to bed at 8 as well and his window is right next to their apartment! And, I smell weird smells sometimes and wonder if some sort of weird thing is being smoked in the apartment above me and seeping though the vents.

  16. I'm so with you on getting married before Pinterest. While I now see weddings where I think I would have loved doing that, I'm glad I didn't have the pressure of having everything so perfect! And oh man, recently I had a bandaid on my thumb and scrolling on my phone was near impossible!

  17. So sorry you have horrible neighbors. I don't open my windows because of my allergies...bummer. You really made me laugh as I read the Chick fil-a part...too funny, but ridiculous at the same time. Boo Starbucks. How dare they not give you your beautiful red cup... next time for sure!

  18. I'm so behind on blog reading! Ugh, that neighbor thing sucks. When I lived in an apartment, I also had someone behind me that smoked weed. I'm with you on the noise though, especially when I'm trying to get kids in bed. I totally laughed at the bandaid texting :D And I'm SO glad Pinterest wasn't around when we got married! Thank goodness! Ha!
