$10 at Target [May].

Monday, May 16, 2016

From the very first time I saw Becky do a post on $10 at Target, I was intrigued. I mean, who only spends $10 at Target??? Then I read a little further and realized she gave herself the challenge to only spend $10 at Target on something fun for herself and I was intrigued again. I commented on her post that I loved the idea of her post and would love to try something similar (and a few other people must have too) and this blog hop link up was born!

I'm excited to be back again today co-hosting this link up with Becky and some other fabulous ladies!  If you posted today as well, don't forget to link up with us below so we can see your awesome $10 hauls!

After dropping Mason off at his ABA therapy school one Saturday morning, Seth and I had some time to kill before Costco opened, so we decided to stop by Target. The Starbucks in our Target had FINALLY re-opened after being closed for TWO MONTHS (yes TWO!) so we decided to grab a coffee at the Starbucks in Target and walk around a little before we did our weekly Costco shopping. Oddly enough, we didn't need to get anything at Target (shocking, I know, but I was probably there like the day before and that's why we didn't need any essentials), so I only did my $10 at Target shopping.

Last month, Courtney left a comment on my post saying that she'd just head to the wine section and pick out a wine. I don't know why I never thought of that, that's genius! So, this month, I did just that. I didn't go in looking for anything specific, just something that fit within my budget and a lot of the wines were $9.99 or more. I thiiiiiiink there's tax on wine (???) so I didn't think those would work. I love sangria and so when I spotted this one, I thought I'd try it.

Spoiler alert : I tried it one night a couple weeks ago and GAG (literally, I gagged). DISGUSTING. Oh well. You win some and you lose some.

Since the wine was below budget, I needed to find something else. I'd been seeing people comment about this Spindrift seltzer water before and I'd never wanted to spend the money on it, but isn't that what $10 at Target is all about? So I picked my flavor (they have four different ones) and in the cart it went!

Spoiler alert on this one too : it's... DELICIOUS. I'm definitely going to be buying this again!

How'd I do on my budget?
Well, I went over. Again. I'm terrible at estimating how much things are going to cost with tax and in this case... I also forgot there would be CRV. Not that the 20 cents is what pushed me over, but I would have been a little closer without it. Oh well. The total still started with a 10 so I'll consider that a win.

I had so much fun shopping for myself and am excited to continue this link up! Now, link up and then hop around and check out how the rest of my co-hosts (and everyone else!) spent their $10!

  1. I wouldn't have thought to get wine either. Great idea. Bummer you didn't like the sangria. The different flavored seltzer water sounds so yummy!! Nice choice and I say you were perfect on spending. :)

  2. That's so disappointing on the wine. You'd think that it would be good! I'm glad you were at least 1 for 2. :)

  3. Bummer about the sangria! Our target doesn't carry wine. In nj they only sell wine and liquor in liquor stores. We were just complaining about this the other day that I can't even get wine at the grocery store. Have to make a special trip!

  4. Creative buys! Too bad you didn't like the sangria.

  5. wait? you can buy wine at Target?? I know in some states grocery stores or gas stations sell it, but didn't know target did too! My sheltered NJ/PA life :(

  6. I like the wine idea! Although my Target doesn't sell booze anymore, boo. That seltzer looks good though. What's CRV?

  7. Darn about the sangria. I just got a big bottle of sangria from Costco and it's delish!

  8. Wine that is a great idea, unless it is disgusting of course! They had a chocolate wine on sale ages ago and we picked them up and I think I liked it....but fun about the seltzer. I kind of hate bubbly water, but Aria and Chris do!

  9. That water is awesome - they have it at Trader Joe's too!

  10. Our Target has a great wine selection, but it's a little pricey compared to other stores. I wonder if you could add some seltzer to the Sangria to tone it down a little?

  11. Too bad that the sangria was yucky. Boo. :( I don't know if the Target closest to me sells wine...for some reason, I think not but I will have to check the next time I'm there.

I was so excited to finally be able to link up with you lovely ladies! :)

  12. Don't mind me as I just copy every blog link up you do, haha. So glad I found you! Love your snaps too. I think Kase and Mason are SO much alike! What a bummer about the sangria. That's something I would have bought too!

  13. I'm so sorry the sangria was no good. That's so sad. :( glad the seltzer was good!

  14. None of the states around me are allowed to sell wine in regular stores but when we were in NC I found some bottles for less than $5!! Insane.

  15. LOL! I was going to comment on this, "I see you took my advice!" but no really, you did take my advice lol! Major bummer about it not being any good though. Boooooo

  16. So. The wine aisle is the one that I take the most time in at Target. I know, you're shocked. ;) But, such a bummer that sangria was no good. Such a pity.

  17. Totally picking some up next time I'm at Target!

  18. This is such a fun idea! I could never just stick to $10 at target. The moment I walk in I usually pick up at least 11 items from the $1 buckets haha

  19. Gag?! That is so disappointing, they looked so promising. I am loving the wine idea too. I may have to copy that one as well some time ;).

  20. Too bad the wine wasn't any good but hey, the low-cal sugar free drink was and well, anything that you can indulge on that doesn't have a ton of extra junk in it is a win in my book.

  21. LOL at the GAG, just imagine you spitting it out everywhere, :) I need to get me a redcard, but am hesitant because of all the stuff that's happened with Target in the past....decisions, decisions.

  22. I always see the selzter and never get. I think it's time I give it a try.

  23. Boo to bad wine (but honestly I think all wine is bad haha) but yay for a healthy soda alternative!

  24. You can get wine at Target..?! It's a good thing I can't. Too bad it was no good. :(

  25. Yep, I'm gonna need to try that seltzer water! And wine at Target is tough; not many good options. I'm embarrassed to even say this, but their "wine cube" (boxed wine) isn't all that bad. I drank it in college at least!

  26. Wine is a genius idea! I've never thought about that.
