[It's the Little Things Link Up] Impromptu Picnic

Thursday, April 10, 2014

Linking up a little late this week with Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique and Ashley from Words About Waverly for their "It's the Little Things" link up as we had some technical difficulties this week with the internet at home. I thought I had a case of mom brain and TOTALLY forgot that the internet/cable bill was due on a Sunday so I needed to schedule it to pay ahead of time, but turns out the payment went through fine. It was the lovely gardeners who came on Monday to trim the bushes who accidentally CUT our internet/cable line and that's why the internet and tv weren't working. I was a little annoyed about that as we had to call the cable company to come out and my husband had to take a couple hours off work to be there to let them in, BUT I was also glad that it wash;t my fault that Mickey went on hiatus for a few days.

Anyways, back to the topic at hand.

On Sunday, it was a beautiful day and we had just gotten back from Gymboree. Mason didn't seem tired yet for his nap and kept starring at the window like he wanted to go outside. It was almost lunch time. What to do...what to do. So, I decided to have an impromptu picnic at the park. We heated up all the chicken nuggets we had left (because nothing says picnic at the park like dinosaur chicken nuggets for all), packed some other snacks, cleaned off Mason's roadster and headed to the park for our picnic.

The minute I told Mason we needed to put on his shoes and I saw his little face light up, I knew I had made the right choice. We put his shoes on and buckled him in to his car and off we went.

He loves riding in his car so much that he didn't want to get out once we got to the park.
We un-buckled him and he just sat there - turning his wheel and pretending to drive.

After lunch we played with bubbles and ran around.
I even tried to teach him to shoot the bubble gun by himself.
No luck yet. He's only mastered the baby one.

We came home after about an hour-ish since it was getting warm and Mason went down for his name...reluctantly. He didn't even want to get out of his car once we came home and started crying and banging on the door when we came inside. Looks like I know what we will be doing next Sunday!
