The rules are simple : you have to write 10 things that you love, another 10 that you hate, and then tag 10 people to play along.
LOVE
1. My family and my friends. I feel like this is a given, but I didn't want to leave it out because these people, my people, are so important to me and I love them all dearly!
2. Being a boy mom. When I found out that I was having a boy, I was a little worried, since all I know is girl. But it only took one look at my sweet baby boy and I was hooked. Forever a boy mom. And I can't imagine my life any other way!
3. Starbucks. No explanation necessary!
4. The dishes and the laundry. Now before you go thinking that I'm a crazy lady, I wouldn't necessarily say that I love either chore per se but I definitely don't hate them. I'd much rather load the dishwasher than unload the dishwasher. I have no idea why and I'm sure that doesn't even make sense, but for some reason I like loading it and trying to come up with the best way to fit the most amount of things in there to run in one wash. It's like tetris. Or packing a suitcase. And as for laundry... I can't even really explain it. I think I just like clean clothes :)
5. Oreos. If you've been reading my blog (or following me on Instagram) for any amount of time, you've probably seen an Oreo post a time or two (or ten).
6. Blogging. Seriously, I do. Sometimes it has to take a seat on the back burner when life gets too crazy, but I honestly, truthfully love it. I love reading other peoples blogs and commenting on them and starting a conversation. I love reading the comments left on my blog and responding to them and starting a conversation. I love the relationships and friendships I've formed from blogging. It's just wonderful!
7. Sunshine. I know we need the rain - BAD - but I really can't complain when we have such good weather. When it's overcast and gloomy, it just makes me want to sit at home and do nothing. I just love when it's sunny and warm. It makes me feel happy.
8. Getting my hair brushed. Though I've been the only one to brush my hair for many, many years now, I still remember when I would lay on my mom's lap late at night and we would watch TV together and she would brush my hair. One of the best feelings in the world!
9. Getting my feet rubbed. Haha, after the last one, maybe I should have just said getting pampered. But in all seriousness, I love getting my feet rubbed. And I know that is not something that is for everyone.
10. To Do lists. I know this sounds crazy to some, but I'm a sucker for to-do lists. I have to have a plan and know what I need to do or else I forget. I'm going to be royally screwed when I'm older if I already can't remember things, but if I don't write things down, I completely forget them. I also like to be organized and know my plan for the month. I've started using my planner more to plan out my blog calendar and so far it's working and helping!

HATE
1. Black coffee. It's way too strong and bitter for me. I hate it so much so that when we did the whole 30, I cut coffee out completely since I couldn't add creamer!
2. People who don't put their shopping carts in the shopping cart return and just leave it wherever they please...even if they are parked two cars away from the return area. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but it's just such an easy thing to do that I don't understand why people don't do it.
3. Driving behind those car carrier trucks. Scares the cr*p out of me. ESPECIALLY when there's a car on the very very back and I'm driving right behind it. I know in my mind that the car is strapped to that truck so, so securely, but there's a part of me that freaks out driving behind it since the tires are practically hanging off the back. My mind wanders to thoughts of what if someone forgot to secure something... terrifies me.
4. I absolutely HATE when my favorite tanks get holes in them. I love layering and always wearing a tank top under my shirts. I've had some amazing ones from H&M for forever and they are getting holes in them and I am SO bummed because I can't find any in the material and long enough that I like. I'm in denial that I reallllllly need to get rid of them and just wear them anyway (gosh, so trashy, can't believe I admitted that!). But you know when you love something, it's hard to get rid of it!
5. Rude people. This can apply to so much. Bad customer service. People who feel the need to comment on a news story/Facebook post, etc and just be rude. Like really people? If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all. Zip it. Didn't your mom teach you anything?
6. Bugs. ALL BUGS.
7. Talking on the phone. I don't even know how this happened but I swear I'd much rather text or email than talk on the phone. In fact, if I don't have your number saved in my phone, don't count on me answering. I'll listen to your message and (maybe - probably) call you back.
8. Smoking. Not me. I don't smoke. Never have, never will. I hate people who smoke (sorry, no offense) ... and I especially hate people who blow the smoke in the direction of people who don't care to have smoke anywhere near them, their children, or their lungs.
9. Bad drivers and traffic. I don't know why it bothers me so much, but I hate people who don't use their turn indicators to change lanes. I hate people who cut you off, don't use their turn indictor to tell you they're cutting you off, and then don't say thank you. I hate people who you wave to to let cut in in front of you and then don't say thank you. I hate people who drive too slow on the freeway and people who speed in parking lots. And to add on to that... I hate traffic. I know, I know. I TOTALLY live in the wrong place if I hate traffic, but I love where I live so I deal.
10. The cost of living in California. I just don't get it. I mean, I know the weather here is nice and all, but is it really necessary for houses to be like 3 times the amount as anywhere else? Ugh. I'll give you something to compare it to... a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom, approx. 1,000 square foot townhouse goes for $350,000 in California. You can buy a 4 bed room, 3 bathroom, probably almost 2,000 square foot HOUSE in Texas for less than that.
And just for fun...
11. Auto Correct. It is SO helpful sometimes, yet SO unhelpful other times. Like when I spell something right while typing on my phone, my phone decides that I really meant a different word and changes it without my knowledge so I look like an idiot when I send the text. And then there's those occasions that I just miss maybe one letter while typing on the computer and I wish that auto correct would work, but alas I just get the infamous red squiggly underlined word. So frustrating.

Haha, I'm sorry I didn't tag you :(. Loved reading your post - I looove when my hair gets played with too. I try bribing my daughter into playing with mine. I'm with you on the smoking too - bleh!
ReplyDeleteI feel like we are the same person... So many similarities! The hair brushing... Yes! That is why I love that Noah's soothing method is playing with my hair :). Also hate bad drivers too... It infuriates me! And I feel your pain about the cost of living! New Jersey is shockingly expensive because of its proximity to NYC, but we don't get your great weather! I get so jealous when I watch house hunters and see what some people pay for houses!
ReplyDeleteI love laundry too. I just like feeling the accomplishment that I was able to tackle all the dirty clothes and now we have a closet/dresser full of clean and nicely folded laundry.
ReplyDeleteAnd when people are rude on Facebook... it's like the only thing you have to say is super rude... keep it to yourself.
Count me in for dishes and laundry too! I hate cooking, so I'm the dish washer 99% of the time and I don't mind it one bit!
ReplyDeleteGetting your hair brushed! yes! Love that. It has been a while. I also love back rubs. Aria hates it. I'm like are you my child?!
ReplyDeleteHair brushed- TOTALLY! I love that so much! I ask Scott to do it sometimes because it feels so nice. Also, to-do lists and Oreos- yep! :) I forgot to include the shopping cart thing on my list - that's definitely one of my biggest pet peeves. I mean, you can't walk the extra 30 feet to put it back in the corral thing?! And I'm with you about talking on the phone. I'm happy to know I'm not the only one, since my mom thinks I'm weird for that.
ReplyDeleteshopping car UNreturners!! I HATE THEM! i'm like. if i manage to take them back with kids you have exactly zero excuse!
ReplyDeleteBugs and boy mom don't mix ya know ;) I love this post! SO fun to learn so many new things!
ReplyDeleteFun! I totally love getting my hair brushed too & rude people, they are the worst! Ha! Loved this! :)
ReplyDeleteHaha loved this so much Starbucks and Oreos... Umm, YES! I can't agree on the foot rubbing if you touch my feet I may shank you.
ReplyDeleteBut car carriers are the WORST. Have you seen those videos where the driver gets really close behind one and then wakes up the sleeping passenger. Oh my goodness I would just die.
I identified with almost everything you love and hate (well except the obvious Boy Mom) but I say hallelujah to to do lists and texting/email over talking on the phone, because why? Seems so unnecessary. But the biggest one: cost of California living!!! I know we talked about this before too. Such a drag. Brian just read last night it is the #1 state other states visit on vacation; well I say thats all fine and dandy but cut the locals some slack! (Rant over haha)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tag! I will have to get a post together soon! And I LOVE getting my hair brushed too! Even as an adult my mom will still occasionally do it if I'm sick, sad, whatever!
ReplyDeleteThese are some of my favorite kinds of posts!
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on everything you mentioned about blogging.
Give me all the sunshine and hair brushing.
I also feel exactly as you do about terrible drivers. Talking on the phone? Forget it. If you can't tell me in a text just wait till you see me in person.
Aww thanks for the tag!! And another Oreo addict over here :)
ReplyDeleteLoved getting to know you a little better though this fun post! Love your loves (I actually just ordered cookie dough oreos from Walmart.com because I can't ever find them in the store anymore - lol ...oreos are the best :)) and I'm with you in those hates too -- especially people not returning their carts, rudeness, talking on the phone, and bugs!! Such a fun read...thanks for sharing! :)
