Goodness, it feels like it's been FOREVER since my last fix! But really it was just two months ago. It was completely unintentional, but I didn't realize how long it's been since my last fix back in May. In the grand scheme of things, obviously a couple months isn't that long, but I was getting them every month or so (and wanted them more often LOL) so two months seems like a long time!

Disclaimer before I start showing pictures... we just moved a little over a month and a half ago and the lighting is not the best inside our place and I didn't know where to go outside (and it was hotter than heck outside with what felt like humidity of 5000% so I didn't want to try to find somewhere), so I just went with the selfie in the mirror. Hopefully you can still get the gist of the gorgeousness of the clothes!

So, without further ado... let's get on with the reveal!

In case you haven't heard of Stitch Fix, it's basically a personal shopping service. You fill out your online profile by answering some questions about likes/dislikes, style, sizing, etc and then can write a note about what you're interested in as well as link a Pinterest style board to help your stylist know what you're looking for and what you're style is. Then your personal stylist gathers some items that she thinks you'd like and sends them to you. You try them on in the comfort of your own home and decide what you do and don't want to keep and then you have three days to send back whatever you don't want. Easy peasy! The styling fee is $20 and if you send back all the items, you lose the $20. If you keep one (or more) items, they deduct the $20 styling fee from your total and you pay the difference. And if you keep all five items, they deduct the $20 from the total and you get a 25% discount on all the items. Pretty great! If you're interested in signing up, if you want to use my referral code then I'll get small credit to my account and will be forever grateful.

A couple fixes ago, I had requested a new stylist. While I did like my old stylist, I felt like she was thisclose to nailing my actual style. I always liked the things she sent me, but they just weren't quite me. So, I requested Desiree's stylist, Raquel. I always LOVE everything that Desiree gets in her fixes and figured that if we had a similar style, that Raquel would surely hit the nail on the head for me too. And sure enough.... SHE DID! Check out my FIRST 5/5 fix here!

So now... on to my fix!

Kut from the Kloth | Celeste Pull On Fray Hem Shorts
Size : 10 | Color : Black | $48

You guys might remember my love affair with Kut from the Kloth when I previously shared my beloved Kut from the Kloth skinny jeans. It's no secret I am a HUGE fan of their jeans and shorts and I ask for them in every Stitch Fix box that I can in hopes that they will have some new item that I haven't tried yet. Well, Raquel delivered on these and I haven't tried them yet! When I first took them out of the box, I was excited about the brand (obviously) and I was excited that they were an elastic waistband! Let's be honest, stretchy pants are everyone's friend and if I can look cute and fashionable while being comfortable, sign. me. up. I really loved them, they actually fit really well, and I loved the frayed hem detail (see detail shot above), but they felt a little thin, they didn't have pockets, and I have some shorts that are VERY similar, so I ultimately decided it would be best to send them back.

Verdict : Returned.

Le Lis | Deria Woven Back Knit Top
Size : M | Color : Turquoise | $44

Holy gorgeous!!!! You guys. I have to break the bad news that I did return this amazingly, gorgeous top. Yes. I did. And I still regret it to this day. (I'm tryyyyyyyying to be good and not spend AS much money as I want to spend, so I limited myself to one item this fix. I'm already spending a fortune on Mason as it's his birthday this month too so maybe my fix delivery came at a bad time.) Either way, I have nothing bad to say about this top. Loved the color. Loved the mixed media. Loved the floral back. Loved that I could wear a real bra. LOVE LOVE LOVE.

Verdict : Returned.

Heartloom | Waverly Embroidery Detail Top

Size : M | Color : Blue | $68

When I took this out of the box, I wanted to love it. I loved the style of the shirt, the blue and white stripes, and the overall look. But when I put it on, it was a bit boxy and a bit more shear than I'd like. I'd definitely have to wear a tank top underneath and that's something I've sort of gotten away from lately since it's been so hot. These type of shirts are also hit or miss for me in the arm area, so while it was loose in the stomach region, it was a bit tight when I tried to move my arms and that just wouldn't work. In addition to the fit issues, I felt like it was a bit overpriced for what it was since the material was just ok and felt a bit thin and cheap.

Verdict : Returned.

RD Style | Eve Romper
Size : M | Color : Burgundy | $68

When I pulled this out of the box, my first thought was "gorgeous pattern and gorgeous color!". And then I saw it was a romper and I was skeptical. I wanted to keep an open mind though because it looked comfortable, so I tried it on. I was definitely right about it being gorgeous and I do still love the pattern, but I don't know if it's just how it was cut or because I'm 5' 6" and it's meant for shorter people, but the romper was a little... short in the front and was very tight on my... crotch, for lack of a better explanation. Also, from the back, I was pretty sure you could see my butt ESPECIALLY should I bend over. I felt slightly awkward about the fact that if I were to need to go to the bathroom, I'd basically have to take off the whole thing and would be totally naked, but was willing to over look that fact if it fit well, but it didn't and I sadly had to send it back.

Verdict : Returned.

Gilli | Ryland 2fer Maxi Dress

Size : M | Color : Light Pink | $78

Annnnnnnd... I saved the very best for last. THIS DRESS. Where is the heart eye emoji? 😍😍😍

I actually saw a very similar dress on Courtney's blog a couple months ago and was super bummed to find out it was maternity. I pinned it to my Pinterest board anyway in hopes that by some miracle there was a non-maternity option and there was! And I am in love. It looks black in the pictures, but the top portion is actually blue and the bottom is the most gorgeous peach/pink color with flowers. It's perfection. It's the perfect length for me and has a slit on one side so it makes it easy to walk in and it's just over all the best. I knew I was going to keep it the second I saw it in the box.

Verdict : KEPT!

Kut from the Kloth | Celeste Pull On Fray Hem Shorts: Returned

Le Lis | Deria Woven Back Knit Top: Returned

Heartloom | Waverly Embroidery Detail Top: Returned

RD Style | Eve Romper: Returned

Gilli | Ryland 2fer Maxi Dress: Kept!

Well, a 1/5. Not the best, but not the worst! And mostly my fault that's it's only a one instead of a five. Raquel nailed my style this time and had there not been some fit issues and had I not put myself on a budget, I would have kept at least two more items! I'm thinking I might wait a couple months for my next fix and get one in September for my birthday. Maybe I'll get lucky and get some birthday money and then I can keep all five! 😉

Bring on my next fix!

Do you agree with my choices? Should I have kept anything that I sent back?

  1. Oh my gosh! You had such cute things in this box, I would have had trouble deciding what to keep. I would have kept it all because my gosh, there were some good things. My favorite is the romper but yes... gotta pee, right?

  2. That turquoise mixed media top is adorable. Maybe you can find a similar one soon (and maybe even less expensive!). From the picture the romper looks great on you. But, I’ve always wondered about it riding up the crotch area. I’ve never tried one on. I just don’t think I could do them. You sure did save the best for last. That dress is amazing and looks so great on you!

  5. I love the dress! Too bad about the romper. Rompers that are tight like that are a definite no go!
