Five on Fri-YAY!

Friday, August 28, 2015

This week feels like it went by so fast and so slow at the same time. I'm not sure that's even possible, but I do know that I'm SUPER glad today is Friday!

Before I start celebrating the weekend prematurely, here's my (sometimes) weekly five.

ONE.
Paw Patrol Christmas.

I was looking on Amazon for something completely different when Amazon decided to show me something that I didn't know I needed : The Pups Save Christmas! (a Big Golden Book). Seriously, it's like the Amazon Gods are mind readers because I immediately added this baby to the cart! It's being released September 8th, but I'm totally pre-ordering it now!

TWO.
Essie Gel Setter Top Coat.

I found this duo at Target the other day and just had to try it. I'd been eyeing it for a while but kept trying to talk myself out of it, but finally found the combo with Bahama Mama that I'd been wanting so I just had to. It's actually a really great deal at $14.99 for the two because the top coat is $9.99 on it's own and the nail polish is about $8.49. I haven't used it yet because I didn't have time to paint my nails this week, but I'd love to hear any feedback anyone may have!

THREE.
Etsy Planner Stickers.

I mentioned last week that I'm on the hunt for a new planner and asked for some advice on which one you guys liked and why. I got tons of great feedback that was super helpful! And then I found another blog post that focused on one specific planner, but also had these awesome planner stickers as well. I'm a SUCKER for pretty pens and planners and cute stickers are a close second. They seem pretty affordable and so cute and applicable, I might have to get some of them too!

FOUR.
If I Need Help.

I love the idea of these If I Need Help shoe tags, especially since Mason doesn't talk and wouldn't be able to tell a paramedic his name, if he's allergic to anything, or who his parents are if there was an emergency. BUT there's something about anybody being able to scan my son's shoe and getting ALL his information (and ours) that freaks me out. So while I think it's a good idea, I'm not too sure we'll be trying it any time soon.

FIVE.
Wall Calendars.

In addition to my planner, we have a wall calendar hanging in the kitchen so Seth knows what's going on too. I was scrolling through IG the other day when I came across these beauties. My calendar goes through the end of the year but this deal was too good to pass up! THREE years of printable wall calendars for $5?! And how cute are they?! Now I just need to get them printed!

Happy weekending!

  2. ok there's lots of great stuff here! I don't usually read the Friday posts at all but that paw patrol picture sucked me in and I'm SO glad it did!! I know two kiddos that will LOVE that book!!! Callie is obsessed with Paw Patrol - like Ryder is seriously her imaginary friend obsessed and my nephew loves the show too!
I might have to check out those calendars. I like my wall cal from shutterly bc of all the pictures you can load and I usually find a code to get one for free. Happy Friday friend!

  5. hm those child shoe tag things are just so very odd. I mean I get it. But still so odd. I could see using it like at Disney if you get separated though. But in general I think I'd be worried somebody would just scan it. Maybe if you could just trust all the people!
Christmas books! I can get behind that.
I need those stickers too =) I think I must have seen the same post. I think it is planner season though because I've seen at least 3 posts on them just lately. Emily Ley's pineapple SP comes Sept. 9th. Drops. Whatever you'd call it.

  8. The Paw Patrols Christmas - holy cow we need that!! Totally preordering it, too! Awesome find.
So the chip is a good idea, but like you mentioned, slightly freaky with the scanning and info. I have a shoe tag on my running shoes with just my name and emergency contact name and number on it. Something like that might be a good alternative for Mason?

  10. Please report back on that top coat!! I love gel nails but hate paying for them all the time. But I also hate chips so I never paint my own nails. Can you use this on any nail polish???

  12. Thanks for the heads up on the book, I've added it (along with the items we talked about yesterday) to C's birthday wish list. At first I thought it would be wrong to have a wish list but at least folks can't say they don't know what to get him, you know?

  13. I love how much your sweet Mason loves Paw Patrol! My Mason was super into it for a while. But now he thinks he is a big boy {ughhh} and watches mostly the older kid shows. That Bahama Mama color is perfect! I am going to be on the lookout for that one. And I am off to Etsy for planner stickers. I searched on Amazon, but couldn’t find any good ones. Not sure why I didn’t think of Etsy! Thanks friend! I had mixed feelings about those shoe tags as well.

  14. I've seen those stickers before and I think they're so cute! I'm sure I'll end up ordering them at some point :) I agree with you about the shoe tags too. It's a good idea in theory, but not so much when there are creeps out there that can get all your info. Did you decide on a planner?

  15. Well, I know a little boy who is going to be getting that book-ha! Thanks for sharing! I just bought my first planner the other day (have to get organized now that I'm working p/t) and I got a Blue Sky from Wal-Mart. Those stickers are so cute though!!
