[$10 at Target] January.

Monday, January 16, 2017

I'm excited to be back again today co-hosting this link up with Becky and some other fabulous ladies!  If you posted today as well, don't forget to link up with us below and then hop around and check out how the rest of my co-hosts (and everyone else!) spent their $10!

For this month's $10 at Target, I really had no clue what I was looking for.... again. I thought at first that I would get some goodies in the dollar section since Valentine's Day is coming up, but by the time I got there, a lot had been picked over and all the good stuff was gone. I seriously should have looked on the day after Christmas or something! People at my Target are intense. But regardless, I was still able to find some good stuff!

Window clings, a heart garland, some Oreos, and a heart dish. The window clings are for Mason to decorate the window for Valentine's Day. I had wanted more, but again, the whole section was totally picked over and I randomly found these sitting on top of some other stuff that they didn't even belong with, so I settled for one. This heart garland is super cute and while I am not 100% sure where I'm going to hang it yet, the hearts are made out of wood and then painted, and I just couldn't pass it up.

Mint Oreos... how I love thee. You see, one day a while back, I sent Seth to the grocery store. On the list? Oreos. I expected our normal double stuffed ones, but he came back with mint. Ugh. Mint? I was pretty mad (so silly!) because they "weren't what I wanted". I mean, I love mint! But I just didn't expect these. Begrudgingly, I ate some and I LOVED them. They literally taste like Girl Scout Cookies Thin Mints and are amazing. I was craving some Thin Mints and since it's not Girl Scout Cookie season yet, I splurged on these! Plus it was about time I bought some food again, right? ;)

I've been wanting to put my jewelry in some sort of cute dish that isn't the paper box that it came in for some time now and this fits the bill!

So, how'd I do on my budget?
Since I bought these along with some other items, I don't have a receipt to show, but here's the breakdown.

Window Clings : $1.00
Heart Garland : $3.00
Mint Oreos : $2.99
Heart Tray : $3.00
Minus RED Card discount : ($0.50)
Tax (8%) : $0.76

Total : $10.25

Over again! Oops.

I guess that's what happens when you spend $10 and your discount isn't as much as your tax is. But hey, a quarter is not that bad!

  1. I swear they put things out on December 30th here, which was just crazy! I have a love/hate relationship with window clings. I think they look cute, but Emmy ends up playing with them constantly and dropping them so they get covered is dog hair. I think I have to hold off on those until her little fingers dont'w ant to touch constantly. Love the jewelry dish. It's so pretty and simple.

  2. I spent 9.99 and the same dang thing happened to me! They put out that Valentines stuff FAST! I think ours was out by the 27th. I totally understand the intense thing too. Our Target is the only one for about 45 minutes so it has A LOT of traffic.

  3. Mint anything is my love language so when it's smashed in an Oreo I'm the happiest girl in town.

  9. Going over by a quarter isn't bad at all. I haven't tried the mint oreos but saying they taste like thin mints has me really curious!

  10. You were only over by a quarter, which is peanuts.
Our Dollar Spot has been pretty well picked over too. But, they must have just restocked the window clings because I was able to grab three different sheets.
WHY would you ever not want Mint Oreos? Those are THE best kind! Smart decision picking those up this trip!

  11. I haven't tried the mint Oreos, but they sound pretty good. I'm not a huge fan of mint, but I do love me some Thin Mints! :)
Love the heart dish too. I have a jewelry dish I got from Target a while back and love being able to put my everyday stuff in there at the end of the day.
