[Blast from the Past] My Favorite Vacation

Tuesday, April 7, 2015

Today I'm linking up with Andrea from Momfessionals to share my favorite vacation.

I went on a lot of great vacations with my family growing up - a cruise to Alaska, road trip to Oregon and Washington, (multiple visits to) DisneyWorld (and to visit my Grandpa who lived just outside of Orlando), a trip to Canada, a road trip to LA and Disneyland, and many more. Unfortunately I don't have any of those pictures that I can share with you since they are all hard copies and I don't have a digital version (you know, those were back in the days of disposable cameras and non-digital cameras).

So, today, I want to share my favorite vacation to date : our honeymoon.

For our honeymoon, we went to Maui and Kauai. It was the MOST amazing 10 day vacation I've ever been on. Not only was I just so excited to have just gotten married to my best friend, but I was also in paradise. And not to mention, I was probably the most tan I have ever been in my life. We did amazing, fun excursions, sat by the pool and the beach and had tropical drinks, went on an airplane ride to the big island, went on a helicopter ride over Kauai, went zip lining, and much much more. Just looking at these pictures again makes me want to go back SO. SO. BAD.

***hint, hint, ten year anniversary Seth, hint, hint***

These pictures were taken almost 4 1/2 years ago, November 2010, so please don't judge my photos too harshly. Cameras and my photography have come a long way since then :)

These pictures don't even do the beauty justice. If you've ever been to Hawaii, you know how beautiful it is. We had an absolute blast and I didn't want to leave. In fact, this is how I felt about our honeymoon being over...

And there you have it.
My favorite vacation... to date.

  1. I've always wanted to go! For our honeymoon we debated between Hawaii and Italy. Then Chris' brother started planning a destination wedding in Hawaii for the next year, so we chose Italy. Then the wedding was called off. We LOVED Italy and I don't regret the choice at all, but I still want to go to Hawaii!

  2. I've never been there! I bet it would be the best, and oh so purty. And I like your 10th Anniversary plans =) Do it do it!! I told Chris for our 10th we should do 10 days at Disney! I'm starving now. I want fruit, alcohol, and fish, which is pretty gross since it is breakfast time.

  4. Love your pictures! It totally brings me back to our honeymoon too! We were married on Oahu, and then spent some time on that island, before going to Kauai. Hawaii is just so so pretty and amazing! We are actually planning to go back for our 10th anniversary too (we got married in June 2010). Looks like you did the Blue Hawaiian helicopter tour, which we did too! What hotel did you stay at on Kauai?

  5. That looks amazing. I would love to go there. My hubby & I didn't really get a real honeymoon & I think that we SO badly need one. Maybe someday...when the girls are out of the house. Ha, ha!

  8. I have not gotten my photos organized yet but we went to Maui and Kauai in Feb for our 20th anniversary and right then, I decided we will be retiring to one of those islands. We did Oahu in 2011 and even though we had an amazing time, I love the laid-back feel of the smaller and less populated islands. Love your pics!

  10. Oh I just love this!! My vacation to Hawaii was definitely one of my top ones as well. I totally laughed when I got to your last picture. Such a bummer to have it end huh? My fingers are crossed he takes the bait on the 10 year. I'd love to see another round of photos!

  12. Holy awesome honeymoon!! I want a tan.. :) I got to go visit while Dan was in Hawaii on a month-long work trip. It is so beautiful (and expensive). I'm also impressed by all your vacations growing up. They all sound like awesome trips/memories.

  13. You guys are so adorable! I love Hawaii! Ryan and I went to the big island and Maui after we took the bar, back when we first started dating. I am dying to go back someday and take the kids! Love these photos!

  14. Yes! We love Hawaii so much! We try to get there as often as possible. We even Babymooned there with Marcus. And just took Marcus to Maui last year for a week. It was the best ever. However, we've only ever been to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island. I'm DYING to go to Kauai, and your pictures further solidify that we *need* to get there!
