Magformers [Walking!] Robot + a Giveaway!

Friday, September 4, 2015

I've expressed our love for MAGFORMERS® before on the blog. When I asked for suggestions on what to get Mason for his 3rd birthday back in July, these were at the top of the list. They came highly recommended to me from various people and I made sure to add one of the basic sets to Mason's birthday wish list. He ended up getting the basic 30 piece set for his birthday (thank you Papa!) and has been obsessed ever since. He's not so good at building things with the pieces yet, but he loves stacking them and matching the colors and the shapes. Seth also loves them and likes to build things with them once Mason has gone to bed. He's always ever so proud of his creations and then Mason wakes up in the morning and crushes his dreams and his creation in 10 seconds flat. So when MAGFORMERS® contacted me and asked me if we'd like to review one of their new products, the walking robot, we jumped at the opportunity.

I had originally planned on opening it and playing with it over the weekend, but when Mason saw the box, he immediately grabbed it and asked me to open it. And who am I to deny him when he's so excited? So what did we do? We opened it and we starting building!

Mason was SO excited to start playing with the robot that it was hard to get good, non-blurry pictures since he was moving so much. Mostly though, he was mesmerized by the fact that the robot actually WALKS on its own!

I seriously can't say enough good things about this product, so I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I mean, just look at Mason's face!

See what I mean? He LOVES them!

Since you can tell from the pictures that obviously kids love , I wanted to give you a few reasons why as parents, we should love them too. In true Five on Friday style, here are five reasons why I love MAGFORMERS®.

ONE.
With Magformers, kids can create 2D and 3D figurines. Mason likes to play with them both ways. He likes to match the colors together, make long chains of them, and stack the shapes in a tall tower.

TWO.
Magformers encourage kids to construct different objects and structures and to really use their imaginations - the possibilities are endless! They are committed to providing high quality, reliable products that inspire kids creativity. With Magformers, kids can bring their ideas to life!

THREE.
They are SO educational! Like I mentioned, even though Mason can't read instructions, we were still able to ask him to match colors and identify shapes. He's been working on that at school and in ABA and he's gotten to be quite a pro at it. It definitely makes it more fun than your laminated colored paper.

FOUR.
With its unique never-rejecting magnet, Magformers are super strong, easily cling together and stay put together. I was a little worried about how it would work when I built some of the harder robots with a purse or a drum, but the Magformers stayed perfectly in place!

FIVE.
They are just plain AWESOME! Ask anyone who had ever played with them before and I'm sure they will agree.

And now for the fun part, I get to give away one of these awesome walking robot sets to one of you!

Giveaway runs from Friday, September 4, 2015 at midnight Pacific time to Friday, September 11, 2015 at midnight Pacific time. Giveaway is open to US residents only. Entries will be verified. Winner will be contacted by me. Good luck!
