Blogger Date at the Aquarium

Friday, November 6, 2015

You know how you can "meet" someone online and just click with them? No, this is not a match.com or eharmony.com advertisement. I'm talking about making blogging friends! Hopefully for most of you reading this, you understand what I mean. Those people that you read their blog and just know that you would get along well in real life? Well I've been lucky enough to meet a couple bloggers (Hi Desiree! Hi Stephanie!) and they were seriously just as sweet and awesome in person as they are online. That being said, there's another blogger that lives super close to me and our schedules have been crossing until yesterday when we met at the aquarium for a play date!

Some of you may already know who I'm talking about from my serious overgramming yesterday, but yesterday Mason and I met up with Erin and her kids. She is seriously just as sweet in person as she is on her blog! And her kids, Lex and Kenz are just as ADORABLE in person as they are in pictures! Seriously.

We met at the aquarium at 9am, when it opened, and I seriously almost fainted from the LACK of people there. I mean, seriously? Is this real life? How are we the only people here? It was like a little bit of heaven on earth. I could get used to this new job, being able to take random days off during the week, thing! Mason and Lex were also in heaven acting like the owned the place. They were instant BFFs and thoroughly enjoyed running around the aquarium like crazy people. We were there for two hours and then decided to go grab some lunch nearby. The kids (and adults) had an absolute blast!

So, so happy we were finally able to meet up in real life! We've officially been promoted from blog friends to real life friends. Next meet up is introducing the husbands (which should be fine - they both love sports so you know they'll have tons (of boring stuff) to talk to each other about!) and to finish planning the wedding :)

Now, anyone want to come visit??? I love turning blog friends into real life friends!

  2. So fun and I'm jealous too (which I mentioned multiple times on Instagram already!)!!! And oh yeah, isn't it crazy how empty places are compared to the weekends! There are certain places I won't go to on the weekends and tell Chris that if he wants to do it with us he needs to take a day off work. Sometimes it's just not worth the crowds! Glad your new job is flexible and allowing you to enjoy this perk!!! And no joke, I told Chris to put San Diego on the list for the next vacation we plan! I've been for work (didn't get to enjoy it though), Chris has never been, and there's so much fun stuff for kids. When we do I expect all my SoCal blogging friends to get together!!!

  14. I just think it's so cool you guys got to meet..!! And have the aquarium to yourselves. Call me juvenile, haha, but were you like first date nervous?! :) Maybe I'm just really good at being shy and always saying the wrong thing so it would just be me. Haha!! Either way, looks like a great day!! :)

  20. I still wish it could have worked when I was at DL! Next time. Next time.

Also, I laughed at the end of your post because it reminded me of a Chris Rock stand up where he talks about wives shoving their husbands into uncomfortable situations to make friends. "Go in there! He likes baseball!" lol
