I've been a little MIA lately and am having the hardest time getting caught up on life. So I thought I'd do a little 'currently' post and catch you all up on our latest happenings.

C U R R E N T L Y . . .

Buying // Pedicures and Clothes. I've had a LOFT gift card since my birthday (back in September!) that I've been dying to spend but every time I go to buy something (usually when they have a sale), I can't find anything I like. So yesterday when I got off work a little early, I went to try to find some new t-shirts for work and I was pleasantly surprised to find a few goodies! I also might have treated myself to a pedicure with a gift card I had. Total I spent $6.50 on the pedicure (after gift card and after tip!) and $2.92 on the clothes (after gift card). Successful shopping trip and the hubby was happy with how much I spent! Win win!

Doing // Work work work! Well last week and last weekend at least. They definitely kept me busy last week and then we had our event this past weekend and I was at work from 7:30am-5:00pm on Saturday and before sun up to about 2:30pm on Sunday. And on Sunday I walked more than 7 miles and managed to burn my part (I had my hair parted and up in a bun and forgot to put sun screen on my part line - I mean, really, who thinks of that anyway??) Needless to say, I came home, took a shower, had dinner, and went to be at 8:01pm. One minute after we put Mason to bed.

Dreaming about // our Disney cruise later this year! Since starting a new job, I don't really have any vacation time, so I think the cruise will be my first real vacation since April. Already counting down the days!

Drinking // Pineapple Margaritas. I tweaked Colleen's recipe for home made clementine and lime margaritas to make them pineapple and they are delish! Recipe share coming soon!

Eating // Del Real Foods. I won the giveaway on Desiree's blog for Del Real Foods a couple weeks ago and our goodies came in the mail the other day. We made carnitas sandwiches and tator tots and beans the other night and it was so. good.

Hating // Sun burns on my head.

Listening To // Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off". I used to play the Disney Jr. DJ Shuffle CD in the car for Mason. Then he seemed like he wasn't as in to it anymore so I just played the radio. After I quit my other job, I took my Taylor Swift CD back and decided to pop it in yesterday morning. I started singing to the "Shake It Off" song and Mason got all excited so I had it on repeat all the way to school. I love that he loves music!

Loving // Fish tanks in waiting rooms. We had a follow up with the ENT last week and Mason and I got there slightly before Seth did. Mason does ok in the waiting room, but usually gets bored after a few minutes. But this fish tank... this fish tank (complete with a Nemo fish!) held his attention for a lot longer than I anticipated! We might need a fish tank in our house!

Making // Better use of my planner. I recently decided to start using my planner differently. I used to put my blog posts at the top of each day in the weekly section of the planner, but I found it hard to plan. Most often I fly by the seat of my pants and post whatever I think of the day before, but sometimes there are certain link ups I want to be a part of on a certain day, or there's a link up I'm hosting or something and I'd like to see the month as a whole. Well... game changer! I decided to use the monthly section for only my blog stuff, and it totally helps! I love seeing the whole month as a whole.

Planning // For the Fall. You can never be too early, right? Starting to plan a few fun things for later this year! To be announced... in the fall!   =)

Reading // Blogs. Per the usual. But specifically, this 10 tips for planning your first Disney cruise post that I found while trying to find a picture of the cruise ship (in the picture above). Although our trip is already planned through a travel agent and she has given us a lot of tips, I found this post to be super helpful too!

Wanting // Frozen Yogurt. For dessert everyday. They have this chocolate milkshake flavor that is amazing! Throw some Oreo crumbles on there and I'm a happy camper.

Watching // Baseball. Baseball. And more baseball. And Master Chef. And sometimes the Bachelorette (though I'm kinda over this season. It's not as exciting or dramatic as I had hoped. And I might have googled who won. Can we fast forward to the end? Anyone else?) Oh, and the Real Housewives of Orange County. The new season started last night and I, of course, had to watch. It's total trash (and totally NOT what we are all like!) but I totally can't help it!

Wearing // Jeans and a t-shirt... to work! My new job is night and day different than my old job. I'm used to business casual and being told that I need to be at work from 8am-4:30pm. Those days are long gone. And here are the days of jeans, t-shirts, and TOMS to work everyday. Bring it on! I'm loving it!
PS disregard that car in the background of this picture!

Happy Tuesday! What have you been up to?

  1. A Disney cruise?! How fun; Mason is going to love it! I'm slightly jealous!

  2. Just Googled the Bachelorette spoilers, too! Blah. However, Bachelor in Paradise can't come soon enough!!

  3. Love it - good stuff!! :) I'm loving your new clothes from Loft. I am so excited for you and your Disney cruise, Mason will be in heaven!! Those carnitas... yes please!! Looks delish. Awesome giveaway to win. :) Hope you have a great rest of the week and your 'part' is recovering well, that's the worst.

  4. Saving gift cards is the best - fun that you had a whole gift card day! The Disney cruise will be so much fun - looking forward to a trip is the best!

  5. I am so glad I never watched any of the Bachelor/Bachelorette after hearing people talk about this season. Too crazy.

Now, RHOC, totally on board with that. I want to be Heather in my next life...

Also, Abbie LOVES Shake it Off. LOVES. Every time it comes on in the car, she's dancing in her car seat.... it might be the cutest thing ever (not that I'm biased at all). Happy Tuesday girl!

  6. okay so many things...all forgotten!
um...the car just means oh hey I have a toddler, specifically a boy! That is so nice that you can wear jeans to work. I miss jeans. I melt in them anymore, I pull them out again in October.
Disney Cruise!! That is oh so exciting. I want to come too! -> http://dixiedelights.blogspot.com/2015/04/disney-cruise-tips-tricks-2015.html might like that
I love planning for fall! I do it all the time.
Hating sun burns on your head...yeah those suck. I did that at Disney once. Ouch.
oh you won the Del Real foods! Fun!
    I love that Loft dress.

  7. Girl, I have a hair part sunburn too, such an insult to injury. Love fall planning!!! :)

  8. Disney cruise?? How fun. Where are you going? Thomas and started talking about taking the one up to Alaska!!

What is this new job of yours where you get to wear toms?!!

  9. Burning your part sucks. And the worst part is when your scalp starts peeling and it looks like you have dandruff in your hair! Been there. I never want to put sunscreen there either because of the grease factor. I just try to flip my hair as often as I can remember! haha

  10. Ooh a Disney cruise sounds like so much fun! And I'm with you on wanting frozen yogurt all the time! I can never say no if it's offered!

  11. Disney Cruise?! That sound amazing! Shopping trips with gift cards are the best. I never would have noticed that car int he background, lol. Wahoo for winning a give away especially one that feeds the family. Sunburns on the head are the absolute worst... ouch.

    Have a great evening friend!

  12. Oh a Disney Cruise will be so fun! And yay for casual wear to work!

  13. I love that you get to wear jeans to work! I used to be able to at my old job a long time ago, and it was so nice! I'm getting so excited for you for your Disney cruise- you guys are going to have so much fun! Love that you won the giveaway too- those foods sounded so yummy :)

  14. Please do not tell Scott you went shopping AND got a pedicure - all for less than $10. He'll expect that all my shopping trips go like that.
DISNEY CRUISE?! Oh my gosh, you are going to have THE. BEST. TIME! I'm so excited for you!
Whoop whoop for Del Real Foods! So glad you are enjoying it all. We just had some pupusas last night. YUM!
I seriously need a planner for my blog. Any good calendar/planner recommendations? I'm desperate.

  15. I need a new planner that really works for my busy lifestyle. I'm thinking I need to invest in one that works for me, Connor and family life.

  16. I am right there with you! Being gone for 7 days has put me so far behind and I haven’t seen the light at the end of the tunnel just yet! I am trying to catch up on reading blogs as well as keeping my blog going. I always see friends wearing cute things from the Loft but when I go I can never find anything. So weird. Can’t wait to live vicariously through your Disney cruise! That pineapple marg sounds divine! Can’t wait for the recipe. Can you remind me what pens those are again? I am loving those!

  17. YAY for a successful shopping and pedicure trip that took little money out of your pocket... that's the BEST feeling!
Oh your disney cruise is going to be AMAZING! I'm so excited for you!! While on ours, Eric said he wants to take Mia on one :) You won't hear any complaining from me on that, ha ha! Of course we will wait a few years until Mia and baby brother will both get some fun out of it!

  18. Yay for a cruise! That is such a good idea about using the monthly part for blog- I think I need to try that. Thanks for sharing this at Tues Talk :)

  19. Oh, so many things to comment on. Yay for shopping and pedicures and Disney cruises! I've never been on a cruise (I'm not sure I'm the "cruising" type), but I've heard amazing things about Disney cruises for kids. Can't wait to hear all about it. Boo for sunburns! That margarita and sandwich look DELISH! Pineapple margaritas sound amazing. You should definitely get a fish tank. I can't even tell you how much my kids love ours. Yes, it's a bit of work to maintain, but the fish are so fun to watch and the sound of running water in your home is really soothing and relaxing (at least to me). And I use my monthly section of my planner the same way! I also know I owe you an email on $$/taxes stuff - I haven't forgotten, just haven't had time to put it all down yet.
