I especially love this exchange because it falls during Mason's birthday month and makes it extra special for him. I literally feel like presents were arriving daily and he was SO excited to open them! Seriously though, the kid was so spoiled in July, he's going to be a little disappointed come August!
As for buying gifts, Mason and I were lucky enough to be paired up with Tia and her daughter, Malia. It was so fun to shop for a little girl since I don't get to do it very often. Tia mentioned a few things that Malia likes and the things that stuck out for me were that she likes pink and purple and likes to play with her kitchen and I immediately knew what I wanted to get her. I found a couple books -- Fancy Nancy: Too Many Tutus and Fancy Nancy and the Delectable Cupcakes (I LOVED these books when I worked at Barnes and Noble and even bought a few in hopes that I would have a girl so I know they are super cute) -- and this Melissa & Doug Slice and Bake Christmas Cookie Play Set. Now I know what you're thinking... Christmas cookies in July, but I thought it fit the theme of the exchange well :) Mason and I hope Malia loved her gifts!
And as for us, we were paired with Jamie and Reese from Cocktails and Carseats to receive gifts from. Mason was so excited when the package arrived and wanted to open it immediately and I was super excited to see there was a few things for me too!
And apparently Mason thought it was for him because he immediately grabbed the cup and tried to drink out of it.
But then he saw his gifts and was SO excited!
This Melissa & Doug Water Wow Coloring Book was by far the biggest hit (with him and with me)! I loved it because it was mess free and he loved coloring the vehicles. He colored for a good 10+ minutes which is a total win in my book because he usually has the attention span for coloring for 1 minute max.
Jamie and Reese, THANK YOU SO MUCH! I love that you included a little something for me and Mason, of course, LOVED his gifts! Seriously you hit the nail on the head with the Planes toy, the water gun, the bubbles, and the coloring book.
Now, link up with us and show us the goodies that you got! I can't wait to get some ideas to add to Mason's Christmas list.
Merry Christmas!
We love water wow over here too! And it looks like Mason is left handed like noah is! We are a huge fan of the Melissa and Doug cookies... The Christmas and regular ones. He plays with them every day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun haul! I have those M&D water books but I haven't gotten them out yet. Pretty sure I will this week!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I need to add the books you sent to our list of little girl books (we have zero in our collection, for obvious reasons).
ReplyDeleteThat little water coloring book, yes. We (I) love those kind of activities. Entertainment for the kiddo, zero clean up for the momma. Total hit.
So glad he liked his gifts! We have a few of those water wow books and Reese loves them, so I was hoping Mason would too :) I love that there's no mess.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea! I'm totally celebrating Christmas in July next year.
ReplyDeleteHow fun! What great gifts! I wanted to do that this year, but didn't have the extra money. Hopefully next time!
ReplyDeleteI love that you guys did this! We wanted to do a little dinner or something to celebrate Christmas in July but just got too busy - can't wait for the real thing and I'm sure it will be here before we know it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun exchange!!! And I can’t believe how fast Christmas is approaching. So wild! I need to start shopping, for real. And so awesome that this exchange is near Mason’s birthday. That sweet boy deserves to be spoiled!!! That bake set you sent – oh my word – love it!!! So sweet that she sent you gives as well. I love the mug and the card, and the lip balm too! Perfect. And Mason looks so happy & excited opening his gifts! Just adorable.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting! We had so much fun participating :) I used to work for B&N too. Best job ever! (Except for the $$) Mason got so many great gifts. I'll have to look for that water color book for Ez, that's right up his alley.
ReplyDeleteSo fun! Loving all the gift ideas, as I've had a hard time trying to figure out what to start looking for as Christmas gifts this year. Can't believe it's only a few months away now! That Melissa & Doug cookie set is the cutest thing, and I think that water coloring book will definitely be making its way to our house!:)
ReplyDeleteAria definitely needs some of those wow water books, they've been on the list for ages. Too funny that you bought some Fancy Nancy pre-boy mom stage. What did you do with them? Nieces? Aria is hit or miss with Fancy Nancy, she is loving the puppy one we have from the library currently but the butterfly one we had previously was a dud. I like em though!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to try those coloring books! Glad to hear they're as good as they sound! Reminds me that I need to get out my Fancy Nancy books for my Fancy little girl. ha!
ReplyDeleteHow fun!! Getting gifts/packages are the best. I will definitely be getting those of those 'coloring' books for Tys (and to give as gifts), they look so fun. :) Merry Christmas in July!!
ReplyDeleteThat colouring book is brilliant! I'm sure Maso loves the colours and you must love the no mess!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! Maybe next year, I'll have to snatch a young child so I can do this too...unless a 14 year old will be acceptable. Ha! :)

ReplyDeleteThis is such a great idea! Looks like you had some great gifts!!
ReplyDeleteSo much fun! I LOVE the Melissa and Doug coloring books, all of them. They are so travel friendly, sturdy and work so well.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you got some great stuff. Lucky Mason to have his birthday in the summer too. December birthdays are simply the WORST :(.
Such cute gifts! How do you guys get chosen to give and send a gift?
