Flashback Five on Friday [Fourth of July Rewind] + #StarSpangledKids Link Up

Happy fourth of July weekend! I'm pretty excited to not only have a long weekend off work, but to also be able to celebrate with friends and family this weekend!

Before we start the weekend, I thought I'd share a couple festive things that I did last year.

Red, white (clear), and blue ice cubes.

Simple yet festive. All I did was fill up some ice cube trays with some cut strawberries and some blueberries, added water, and froze. A few hours later and I had festive water!

Bomb pop wine sparkler.

Add some of your favorite wine, a bomb pop, and a sparkler and you've got yourself a festive and fun drink!

Cheesecake strawberries.

So easy and so delicious! My friend first introduced me to these and they're so easy to make. Just cut the stems off the strawberries, core them a little, and fill with homemade cheesecake filling. Crumb some graham crackers, sprinkle on top, and try not to eat them all before your guests arrive!

Blueberry pancakes and strawberries.

Take regular pancakes and add blueberries. Serve with a side of strawberries.

Fireworks craft.

You can find exact instructions on Pinterest but the basic gist is to tape a bunch of straws together and make a "firework" pattern. Put some red paint and blue paint on a plate and let your kid go to town. Add some glitter for an extra special touch!

Fourth of July inspired cupcakes.

These cupcakes are the EASIEST! All I did was bought a cupcake mix from the store, made the cupcakes according to the instructions on the box, and then frosted them with vanilla frosting. I cut up some strawberries and then arranged the blueberries and strawberries on top of the cupcakes to look like a flag. Easy peasy and super festive!

No Independence Day would be complete without some fireworks... of the safe for children kind!

Bomb pops.

Pretty self explanatory :)

  3. So much fun! Maybe we will do pancakes, I might be able to handle that type of festive =)

  4. Love the red, white and blue ice cubes! Love everything about this post! Hope y’all have a wonderful holiday weekend! Happy Fourth!

  5. Those cheesecake strawberries look so cute!!

  6. Bomb pops are the best - and with wine? Yum! I plan to link up sometime next week!

  7. I might have to make that ice with the strawberries & blueberries in it, I like that idea very, very much. :)

  8. Love it, love it, love it ALL. And now I really want a bomb pop.

  9. We have some firecracker pops in the freezer this very minute, pass the alcohol please! ;) Yay for a long, Holiday weekend!

  10. LOVE all these, so fun and festive. Hope you guys have a wonderful, safe, and happy 4th of July weekend!! :)

  11. I think I need to go stock up on some bomb pops. I've only got the lame regular flavors right now :p

That firework craft is my favorite!

  12. So much red, white and blue goodness in this post!! Your food looks amazing. I've always wanted to try those berry ice cubes - do you eat the berries after the ice cube melts or are they more just to flavor the water and toss?? Love those pancakes and that sparkler art is adorable. Hope you have a wonderful 4th!

  13. Oooohhh those straws look like they work so much better than the pipe cleaners I have seen on Pinterest before. Oh yeah, and now I'm starving :P.

  14. I'm thinking bomb pop and bubbles - YES PLEASE! That may be making an appearance on Sunday night! Cheers!

  15. Love everything you shared!!!! And want all of it.

  16. I can't get over all your festiveness! You've got this holiday in the bag! Have a wonderful long weekend!

  17. I've seen those strawberry cheesecake things before and I want to make them so bad. I have a thing for cheesecake but I fear I wouldn't stop eating them. I love those ice cubes too. Then when it melts you have the fruit in the drink, so smart!

  18. All of this looks so good!! and so festive!! Those strawberry cheesecake things would be deadly...

  19. Those strawberry cheesecake bites look delicious and I definitely need to make a bomb pop cocktail next time! I can't get over how little Mason looks! Thanks so much for hosting with me!

  20. The holiday is over, but I definitely still need some of these festive treats in my life. Like the ice cubes, sparklers, and cupcakes!

  21. So many good things in this post! XOXO I hope you had a great 4th of July!

  22. I knew I saw someone suggesting freezer fruit. I'm going to give that a try now that your post refreshed my memory.
