Fourth of July Long Weekending.

Thursday, July 7, 2016

This fourth of July weekend was a good one! I had five full days off and I still feel like it wasn't enough. We did tons and tons and I took a ton of pictures, so I'll let the pictures mainly speak for the weekend but include a little caption as to what the pictures are of.

Friday was for...
Mason going to preschool.
Seth and I looking at houses.
Seth helping his Dad with some stuff at his house.
Me getting a bunch of stuff done on the blog and ordering prints for Mason's room.
Picking up the prints. Finding out I ordered them wrong.
Me getting overly frustrated at a series of events (including the above) and thus us not going out to dinner, so Seth and Mason picked up In n Out.
Bubbles, bubbles, bubbles!
Beer floats... which didn't turn out as well as I had hoped.
Cuddling with Mason until he fell asleep... day 2? 3? of him crying for no reason when we close the door for him to go to sleep.

Saturday was for...
Mason going to his Saturday ABA school.
Seth and I going to Costco and Target.
Picking up the remaining prints.
Shopping at Loft and Kohl's and not buying anything.
Picking Mason up early so we could celebrate a 96th birthday.
A 10 minute car nap.
Double fisting cake and ice cream.
Pool parties and pizza dinners with cousins.
Fireworks.
Falling asleep in the car on the way home.

Sunday was for...
Updating the pictures in Mason's room with the prints I bought on Friday.
Stitch Fix pictures.
Nanny picking Mason up for the day so Seth and I could have a day date.
Celebrating our friend, Vickie's, birthday.
Drinking. Lunching. Bowling. Drinking. And ice creaming.
Grocery shopping for the 4th of July.
Having dinner with Papa, Nanny, and our nieces.
Snapchat selfies.
No nap.
Falling asleep in the car on the way home.

Monday was for...
Sleeping in.
A 5 minute car nap.
Swimming with cousins.
Celebrating the 4th of July.
Good food and family.
Blowing bubbles.
Sparklers.
Falling asleep in the car on the way home.

Tuesday was for...
No school.
Lots of family time.
A trip to the regional park complete with a train ride, a bike ride, and ice cream.
Pizza and salad for lunch.
A failed attempt at a nap for Mason.
A trip to the grocery store for the week's groceries.
An hour car nap for Mason.
A trip inside the grocery store for me and a wait in the car for Seth.
A trip to the Starbucks drive thru and to Costco gas... while Mason naps.
A check up at the developmental pediatrician for Mason.

Our weekend was THE BEST and I can't wait for this coming weekend! July is birthday month and on Saturday we're off to celebrate another birthday... this time a first birthday!

Hope you all had a happy fourth!

  1. Little stinkers and their short power car naps! Your weekend looks like so much fun! My Mase would love that train. His gallery wall looks so good.

  2. Busy! Busy! I love how you set up this recap post! Also, I am sorry for the lack of naps.... My daughter has started telling me she doesn't want to sleep, and it makes me sad. I'm not ready to give up naps!

  3. Oh my goodness you guys had such a great weekend. House hunting, beer floats (do tell more), Ice cream, that bike ride! Seriously so fun. I have never seen anything like those bikes! The prints for Mason's room are perfect. Love them and the way you displayed them too.

  5. House hunting??? Yay! And that's too bad Mason is all of a sudden crying at bedtime. Unless he's in the car or watching iPad, Noah does that all the time. So laying with him has become our routine lol.

  6. LOL at all of the falling asleep in the car. So sad he's crying at bedtime, I hope you figure it out. We love Irvine Regional, although it takes forever to get there! :)

  8. Wow, you had a packed weekend! So many fun things! Did you find any houses you liked? I don't want to move anytime soon, but I always loved house hunting :) Love the new prints for Mason's room too. I really need to get some more pictures up on our walls.

  11. Looking at houses?! What?!! Did you find anything you liked?! Any offers to be made?
I see car naps are a thing for you, too. Both my kids are pros at refusing regular old naps. But, five minutes in the car and they are lights out.
The prints for Mason's room are AH-MAY-ZING!!
And, we need to take a trip to the regional park on a regular old day, together! It looks like so much fun, and I've never seen it except at Christmastime!
