[It's the Little Things Link Up] Playing in the Park

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

As adults, we sometimes get so caught up with the hustle and bustle of daily life that we forget to stop and see the little things. One (of the many!) things that is so great about having a toddler is that everything is so new and exciting for them. There is always so much to discover.

We took Mason on a walk over to the park across the street from our house a couple weekends ago and it was so awesome to just stand back and watch him walk and investigate the world.

Unless of course that investigating heads him towards dog poop or trash...
then he needs a little re-directing :)

Normally I try to avoid him touching random things because he likes to stick EVERYTHING in his mouth and who knows where things at the park have been, but on this occasion, I decided to let go of my inner OCD and let Mason just explore.
We can always wash his hands when we get home, right?

After investigating the leaves, we had to investigate the slide as well.
You know, to make sure it hadn't changed from last time.
Big boy can go down the slide all by himself now...without falling over!

Linking up today with Jess from Sadie Sky Boutique and Ashley from Words About Waverly.

  1. I love how they want to explore everything! I'm trying to get over my OCD too and let Noah touch things. Just carry lots of wipes ;)

    1. Exactly!! Wipes can cure anything. That and washing their hands when you get home. They are only little once!

  2. I couldn't agree more on how amazing tit is to see the world through the eyes of a toddler. It is so sweet to watch them appreciate a tweet from a little birdies, watch a single ant walk along the pavement, be entranced by a snail, etc. We spent 30 minutes in the drizzle this weekend "saving" worms and it was the cutest thing to watch my boy get so giddy over each one.

    1. Seriously! It really makes you think. There is so much that I take for granted because I have done it or experienced it for so long. But everything is so new to Mason. It is so great to see the world through their eyes! So sweet Owen wanted to save the worms from the rain!

    1. Thank you! We live in California and it is both good and bad. Good because we get this beautiful weather all year round (pretty much) and bad because we so don't have seasons!
