[California Moms Blog Hop] One of my Favorite Places -- Irvine Park Railroad.

Monday, February 27, 2017

A couple weeks ago, Justine sent me an email asking if I'd like to contribute to a California Mom's post she was working on for her blog. She wanted to get input from other California Mom's on some of their top spots to go with their families in California and she was going to put together a post highlighting them all. Well, enough of us must have suggested that it would be fun to make it a blog hop, because today, we're all sharing some of our favorite places with you!

Irvine Regional Park.

This park is quite popular, but was completely unknown to me for years. I didn't grow up in Southern California so I guess it's somewhat fair to say that I "shouldn't have know about it" before having Mason, but really it's a great park to go to no matter your age or if you have children or not.

You can rent a variety of bikes for an hour or two and ride all around the park. We've rented a single surrey bike for just the three of us or a double surrey bike when we were with some friends.

There's a small (and I mean small) zoo that you can go to and see a good variety of animals for just $2.

You can take some amazing, gorgeous family photos.

You can hunt for Easter eggs during Easter.

You can hunt for pumpkins for Halloween. Here too.

During Christmas, they turn the train into a Christmas Train and put lights all over it and lights all over the trees. There's games and activities and you can ride the train to go meet Santa.

And you also used to be able to buy Christmas trees there too (they stopped this past year).

And there's so much more that we've never even done like horse rides, paddle boat rentals, and
pony rides. You can also throw a birthday party there, BBQ, hang out, rent a bounce house, and play volleyball.

We love this park and go any chance we get. If you live anywhere near Orange County, I highly recommend visiting Irvine Regional Park!

  6. We really need to go this park more. We just went once to take family photos and have never been back. My parents have taken them to the little zoo though and for a horse back ride. So fun!

  8. We really need to get to IRP besides Christmas! Every time you post or talk about it it sounds so fun! Marcus would love a horse back ride, and I'd love to just let Julia run around and blow some steam.

  9. I grew up in Southern CA, but I moved to MI over 20 years ago, so I really don't remember many places! My sister, however, just moved from Irvine and raved about this park!
