Welcome to October's Guys Behind the Blog link up!

As most of you might know, Betsy from Heavens to Betsy and Laura from According to Laura Jean hosted a series on their blogs called The Guys Behind the Blog. I used to link up as often as possible ever since I found out about the series - I think I only missed one month in the past year and a half since I found out about it. I recently went back to Betsy and Laura's blogs to find out what the questions were for August only to find out that they weren't hosting anymore - July was their last month. I was SO bummed! I truly loved interviewing Seth each month and seeing what questions they came up with. So, I decided to email Betsy and Laura and see if they would mind if I continued on their series. Thankfully they said they wouldn't mind and would be happy to see the series continue on. Crystal from Hall Around TexasEvelina from Fortunate HouseJamie from Cocktails and CarseatsJessica from Secrets of a Stay at Home Mom, and I are excited to continue the series on!

For October, we decided to focus our questions on the theme of Halloween. Here are this month's questions:

1 // What was your most favorite Halloween costume and why?

The one Halloween costume that I have vivid memories of was when I was in fifth grade and I was Indiana Jones. I thought it was THE COOLEST thing that I got to take a whip - a REAL whip - to school! I later hurt myself with it, but that's besides the point. It was still an awesome costume.

2 // Haunted Houses – love them or hate them?

Not a big fan of getting scared. If done right, they can be pretty cool, but I'm still not a huge fan.

3 // What is your favorite scary movie of all time?

Long pause....

Me : Do you even like scary movies?

Seth : Yes and no.

Long pause again...

Seth : I don't know if it was necessarily considered a 'scary movie' but it definitely was a 'creepy movie'... The Sixth Sense. But I also do like all the 'Halloween' movies too.

4 // If you had to attend a mandatory dress up Halloween party this year, what would you go as?

Since Mason's going as a mail man (spoiler alert!) and you want to go as a post card, I'd want to be the big mail truck!

5 // Do you believe in ghosts? Why or why not?

Seth : No.

Me : Do you have a why? Or just no?

Seth : Just no.

November's link up will be a little earlier than normal due to Thanksgiving being the last Thursday of the month. November's link up will be on November 17th and the questions will be:

1 // What is your favorite Thanksgiving dish? What is your least favorite?

2 // What is a Thanksgiving tradition you liked growing up that you want to continue with your family?

For example: Do you eat super early around 3pm or regular dinner time around 6pm? Do you watch football? Do you all go to a particular family member's house? Do you nap after the big meal?

3 // What are your thoughts on Black Friday shopping? Yay or nay?

4 // If you had it your way, would you set up your holiday decorations (Christmas tree, Hanukkah menorah, etc.) before or after Thanksgiving?

5 // What are you most thankful for this year?

We hope to see you back here on November 17th to link up with us and share what your significant others have to say about Thanksgiving! (Also, feel free to grab that first graphic to add to your posts if you'd like!)

A HUGE thank you to Betsy and Laura for letting Crystal, Evelina, Jamie, Jessica, and I continue on their series. It's an honor to be able to continue on what they created.

You can find the original series on Betsy's blog here and Laura's blog here.

Thanks for playing along again, Seth!

  1. Seth's answer for the Halloween costume is great! I love that he actually explained things. Drew was very matter of fact and didn't go into detail. That's totally my hubby, but come on and give me something. :) I can't wait to see Mason as a mail man!!!!

  2. Girl, you've got a few days. Find a big ole box & make him that mail truck! haha!

  3. I love finding out that most of our husbands don't like being scared. And I can't wait to see you guys all dressed up! The post office could use you in an ad!!!

  4. My hubby dressed up like Indiana Jones as well...when he was 37. Ha, ha!

  5. Im marking my calendar now to do next months interview! Im a big fan of M Night Shamalyan (uh that may be spelled wrong haha) and Signs is like the scariest movie to me! Awe, I cant wait to see your costumes!!

  7. Oh fun! I didn't know you guys were continuing! I'm going to try and link up with you guys too. :) Love his answer, they are so guy like :)

  8. Just no, lol. I am totally with him on the scary movies too. I have super mixed feelings about them. The mail truck costume would be the best EVER!

  9. Haha, I love his answers, especially about his Indiana Jones costume :) And I would totally love to see him in a mail truck costume!

  10. First, thank you for continuing this link up. I LOVED (finally) getting Scott to participate.
Second. I bust up laughing when I got to the part where Seth admitted he hurt himself with the whip. Bahahaha!
Third. You're dressing up as a post card today?! OMG - GENIUS!!!
